Topic: So how the !@#$ do I "just say hi" on this thing? | |

um, that didn't make sense....could you explain a little further? You are here, in this section, the forum section.... and are able to be seen...a profile is a one dimensional advertising blurb... this part of the site shows other dimensions to who you are. Anyone can read your thoughts, your ideas, wants, desires, and the chances of someone finding you more intersting, enough to want to contact you, is much higher. I have been blessed to have made many friendships through this medium, the chances of those friendships being as strong, just through a profile, and responding, would be far less. |

Feels like I'm strikin' out quite a bit here (lots of sayin' hi, no one saying hullo back). Gettin' frustrating... how usual? it does not even surprise me. |

Wait until someone starts a game of "JSH" tag and tag them back...if they don't say "no tagbacks"...then, well, your screwed.

what the heck is jsh tag?

Post in the forums. Get to know the people out here and let them get to know you. Don't expect much response if you just fire off e-mails to women that don't know you. Think of this as a friendly club not a meat market.

Think of this as a friendly club not a meat market. I agree Waterloo. When (in the rare event) I get an e-mail that says something like "Hi.How are you?" my first question is - do I know you? Why are you asking me how I am? |
|

wait, what do I say then?

wait, what do I say then? introduce yourself, tell her why you are writing her. What did you like about her profile? Why did you think she might be interested in hearing from you? Comment on her profile, maybe ask some pertinent questions. Think about in the real world - if you just walked up to a total stranger and said - hi, how are you? and nothing more, how far would you get? They would probably back away slowly. You need to be interesting to win fair maiden. |

But how do I sound interesting without - um, trying too hard to sound interesting? So just saying "hi" isn't enough?
