If it's a freeware spreadsheet program, you can download Sun Microsystem's OpenOffice Suite, which has such a program. If you're looking for something more like Intuit Quicken, I'd say you're out of luck, as I'm not aware of any freebie equivalent.

I've heard good things about GnuCash and KMyMoney - but I have not used either. Might be linux-only.

I use FreeCoins (for palmOS) on my treo, but its limited.

I used to use an old copy of quicken which I obtained for $5 at a thrift store. That's practically free.
