I am overweight and trying to lose it, but it has been a battle, I lose and gain. My depression beats me up and then i start eating again, so get caught in the vicious cycle.
I have a lot of friends on here and tell them when we start talking about the weight, many head for the hills, that is cool, rather have them run in the beginning, the ones that stick around have become great friends. I have a close friend who is looking for Barbie, and he knows about my weight. We talk on the phone alot (we will never, ever be anything but friends - I will never be a Barbie and I could never have feelings like that for him, he is a true Shallow Hal). I was blown away last night when we were talking, and he knows all about my weight, and he is talking about women being overweight and "how he finds them repulsive." Guess he is lucky I have pretty good self control or he would have a broken eardrum today. No wonder I always have a sore tongue lately after talking to him - is from always biting it to not tell him what I really want to. His "shallowness" is really bugging me. |

Wouldnt that be the definition of a friend. Someone who respects you for who you are and that you can trust unconditionally.

Makes it really hard at times. He has been a friend to me when I have needed it and supportive, but guess he "forgets" who he is talking to when he starts talking about what he wants in a woman. He is super-judgmental of women and irritates the hel1 out of me when he does that. I suspect he will be searching for his "Barbie" for a long time.
I try to accept people for who they are and as long as they respect me and treat me right, we become great friends. I have a friend right now who tells me my weight is not an issue, but I have a problem with it, so I am working on my head trying to deal with my issues. Just amazes me how some people think sometimes. I like your thread. Good subject. |

Funny I was just thinking about this topic while I was out earlier... so I didn't see this one..but it seems to be an issue.. So I also have a issue.... I am not Barbie...I am a woman...and I am tiny.... I will always be small.... But us small woman have issues to...we get called all kinds of names that don't apply... I am 47 yrs old and am a good 15 pounds under weight... That sucks...it's not healthy.... But thats what major stress does... some eat and some eat to survive... So myy point is we all have issues...and sometimes us skinny woman don't really need to be put in the catagory of Barbie...   I would never put you there zanne. You are way too smart to be any man's toy doll. I am not for heavy women and against slim women - I am for everyone. I think all types of people have their own beauty and all are worth getting to know and love. You are amazing. If you start a cult, count me in. hiker and polar...thank u.. I am going to come up with some kind of cult .. give me a day to think... low brain function sometimes... being zapped at work ....gerrr someone say cake....I used to give my kids their b day cake.. and they got a piece...I would cut a big chunk and hide it..the rest I would eat..when they went back for more.. I would say I ate it..they said but its my birthday.. and I would say and it hurt like hell giving birth so its mine... they would laugh.. have done it for years..poor guys... and u don't want to know how much chocalate I ate all thru the night for the past 3 nights..u would want to puke...lol |
