Oh..even better...looked at the one link provided.
That "camp" isn't in California. It is in Louisiana! And how would I happen to recognize this? Easy - Me and another Sgt. staged a successful break out of it during a exercise, AFTER leading the guards around a chase for a couple hours. |

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,198456,00.html fox good enough and before you say they are emergency center why is the largest one in alaska then you would think the largest would be in areas where high density population could use them -------------------- how about corp watch Certainly the detention centers raise the specter of WW II Japanese internment camps. The new facilities could be used for round-ups of Muslim Americans or other American citizens tagged as "enemy combatants.” http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=13554 |

well im ok im over here...you lot take care over there lol darn...too far to swim. So..I have to ONCE AGAIN, break out of there, but have to take down two tower guards this time (one for the rifle, one for the ammo), night nav to some merchant shipping area, perform some judicious pilfering for additional food/supplies along the way, stow away HOPEFULLY on a con-carrier going towards England. Geez Debbie - you make it tough on a guy, you know ?!?!? |

maybe if this happens I will pretend the government are zombies and do everything I can to escape to the new world, where zombies aren't around. could be fun.

“Our national immigration reform debate is going on real hot and heavy and there are conspiracy theories out there that we are building concentration camps,” said Clay Church, spokesman for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. “This contract has nothing to do with that whatsoever.”
did you actually READ the fox link ya gave out?? |

yes i did
and there are wmds in iraq you must have missed this paragraph ---- "An emergency is basically anything DHS deems an emergency — we think that’s too broad of an interpretation of an emergency and a contract that large should have more safeguards built in to protect all parties concerned," Thompson said, noting that he is also bothered that no other company came forward to bid on the project. ---- more over this line An emergency is basically anything DHS deems an emergency now if the supreme court rule d c is permitted to ban arms what do you think is going to happen other areas will begin banning as well many of the "people" will rise up and fight against this treasonous ruling and that will be an emergency thus the beginning of the use of the camps will begin we need to stop thinking 2 dimensional |

I'm not to sure why we are surprised about this.
Considering the 'War on Terror' and all the hoopla regarding immigration. For those who support tougher immigration laws and have no issue with our current stance on holding those we consider enemies of the State without due process... Where exactly did you think we were going to put them all? In our already overcrowded prisons? I'd be interested to see how many here have posted to topics defending the tactics we are either using or talking about using on people.. Yet have taken issue with this move. We can't have it both ways! |

Jist....You have to take comfort knowing you could survive in hiding if need be. I know I do.......

yep, read that paragraph, but did you miss the few beneath that?
"We all acknowledge that in present day there is a dire need for beds. But if we are releasing people because we don't have beds, let's build some extra facilities — that's a construction contract," he said. "But when we see this kind of contract... it raised concern on our parts." Several congressmen and governors have already declared illegal immigration on the southwest border an “emergency," though the House and Senate have yet to hammer out differences in their two immigration reform bills, both of which include monies to build new detention facilities. On Tuesday, President Bush, joined by Chertoff and David Aguilar, chief of the Office of Border Patrol, called on Congress to complete its immigration negotiations. He also said the Border Patrol, which has been expanded from about 9,000 agents to 12,000 agents, is getting "new infrastructures" on the border, including detention centers aimed to help end “catch and release” practices, where illegals detained in this country are released after arrest because authorities don’t have the space in which to hold and process them. you insist on implying some kind of conspiracy, and that's only pointing out your ignorance on this topic. you're allowed your opinion, im not trying to take that from you, or even degrade or insult you for having it. however, stop with the conspiracy crap, just cuz something CAN be used incorrectly, doesn't mean it WILL be used incorrectly..i have no doubt that there will be (if there's not already) safeguards put in place for these very reasons.. |

Jist....You have to take comfort knowing you could survive in hiding if need be. I know I do.......
Of course I do... Unlike many here.. I have tested that capability many times over in my life. Both with and without firearms. Unlike others, as well.. I do not believe happiness is a warm gun! Many of us here believe that all you need to survive is a weapon. That it is crucial. When I read words such as... I've been around weapons since I was 5..So, I'm sure I can survive whatever comes my way... I'm actually reading.. I place my sense of false confidence in a piece of steel, that will merely draw undue attention to me, when I am too quick to use it in situations that do not warrant a weapon. No matter. I do not respond well to fear mongering... Calling these camps potential concentration camps at this point? Is just that. In my opinion. Being surprised by this is a strong indicator of someones awareness. Portraying the camps as the end result of the debate over gun control is manipulative at best. Our Government has had the power and instruments in place to call martial law since we were 13 colonies trying to be a country. This is not news. |
