I think men and women can be just friends. Most of my friends are women.
Like most of the people here said, as long as you both know that it
won't go any further, you can be good to excellent friends. Sometimes it
is nice to talk to someone about goood and bad relationships and other
things with someone with a different perspective. And as far as being
single or not, the main reason why it's people prefer single people is
because, in my opinion, it helps to cut down on the friction and/or
jealousy (sp?) of the relationship. Common courtesy.

of course...why not a lot of women have more male friends than female
friends...I do anyway...As long as you are honest in the
"friendship"...and not misleading...and vice versa...

I have several ex's that I remain friends with...Not necessarily in your
face every day, but friends that I can call if I need to that would help
me out in a bind if I needed it...and expect NOTHING in return...that is
why it is so important to be friends first in a relationship...

It is totally not hard to be just friends with a guy. Call me young,
but it is all a matter of respect for that person too. I feel lonely at
times but i don't let myself go there....especially if that person can
be straight with me about his feelings too. I have guy friends and i
hope to make more. Guys and girls need friends of the opposite sex at
times, it gives perspective on things in my opinion.

I have had female friends and had sex with them several times.Was in my
twentys then.We made great friends and had great sex too.We would not
have made a good couple tho.If I were to meet any of them today there
would still be a good hug there and a kiss too.Having sex dose not make
you a couple eather.

have a couple of female friends, who I have known for years, we have
never had sex, even though I would not turn it down. the understanding
was clear from the first day, friends only. they have been to my house
many times for dinner and a few drinks, I have been to their house many
times for dinner and a few drinks. afterwards they have gone home, or I
have gone home. it all has to do with our understanding, which was very
clear from the first day.
