12 years is nothing - not even surprising...when it approaches 20 years then it is naughty. over 25 years is indecent...30 years or more and well - that is noteworthy.

I've just started dating a woman who turned 34 last month. During a ph call today she asked how old I was, and I told her the truth, 49. She thought I was late 30's early 40's. Since moving out of the house I have met/dated 5 women all under the age of 40. One was mutual pursuit, the 4 others initiated pursuit. Its kinda strange/nice, especially since the ex-wife is 5 yrs older than me.

it depends on the two people...i have dated men 10 and 11 yrs younger than me...we got along just fine....when we were together...we didnt even think about the age..

My rule is I won't date anyone younger or close to my oldest child's age which is 31. Really I won't date anyone under 40 JMO

Nope. Ex wife #2 is 11 years younger than me. Just because she's an "ex" doesn't mean we didn't get along well. We're still great friends and have a wonderful kid together. She knows me better than anyone and vice-versa.

Ours was an interesting relationship in that we could talk about anything with each other. She learned from me and I learned from her.

My father remarried when I was 17. His wife is only five years older than me and that makes her 20 years younger than him. They have been together almost 25 years now. She was more mature than her age though and she did some growing up in other areas of her personality really quick. I will say that she is the best thing that has happened to my father. I'm glad she is in his life. They are a great couple and still have a great time together.

I guess it just depends on the two individuals in the relationship. Other people's opinions don't matter much.

I am currently in a relationship with someone who is 20 years older than me. It is really going amazing! I would tell you never to let age stand in the way of a relationship if you have a spark with someone. There are some hurdles to get over, but its the same with any relationship.
