that theory does consolidate a lot of other beliefs like those that claim they died and left out their bodies or those that claim they had pass lives and/or was reincarnated or that everyone are Gods of thought and only enter reality to exprience being human, that concept was possibly the message the bible was trying to send with the concept of Jesus, that a God entered reality to become human in order to inform those humans that has forgotten that they will once again become Gods once they die and leave this reality
