Summer Fled by Will

Summer fled before my footsteps
Like night from coming dawn
Her hair trailed out behind her
As autumns baleful song
Winter fell as rustling leaves
In the darkest woods
Covering all of natures needs
Like a lover should
By spring my steps grew heavy
My feet turned red with rust
I was shackled to the memory
Of what became of us
Cold time it ticked and
Time it tocked as
Heaven passed us by
Still when I'm in the present TENSE
I stop and wonder why
See the book blow in the wind and
Try to mark the turniing page
As seasons change with all contempt
While I am still locked in this cage
All these thing ran through my head
I tried to give chase
But Summer Fled... WILL

My body is filled with an all consuming fire
I yearn to feel your touch
I encourage the desire
Oh so much
Thoughts of you resuming your life without me
fill me with rage and jealousy
you are not destined to be alone,
we are one
come and take my hand
your heart I will clutch onto
I will not crush you
I'll not leave you in the mulch and mire
I wont tear you as the barbed wire
I may not have the courage to say "I Love You",
so listen closely to what I tell you

How many times have I asked myself "WHY?"
It doesn't matter cuz eventually I start to cry.

How many times have I thought about doin somethin?
It doesn't matter cuz I just end up doin nothin.

How many thoughts of death echo through my brain?
It doesn't matter cuz they'd just label me as insane.

How many people do I think that I can help today?
It doesn't matter cuz it doesn't take the pain away.

How many people point and laugh and try to ridicule me?
It doesn't matter cuz those stupid people never rule me.

How many times will I make changes in my life?
It doesn't matter cuz its just a pointless sacrifice.

How many times will I want to take a green bud hit?
It doesn't matter cuz you're still a f*ckin lunatic.

How many people are trapped up inside my head?
It doesn't matter cuz eventually they'll all be dead.

How many drugs will help me keep my sanity intact?

I stand before the mirror
Trying to see
The angel that is trapped deep inside me
So many say they see he shining out from my eyes
All I see is the sadness that resides

I stand before the mirror
Trying to see
The beauty that is deep within me
So many say it shines from my personality
All I see is the insanity

The mirror cracks
Crumbling to the floor
Shattered by my fist
I can see no more

Blood covered shards
Laying in a discared heap
This is all I see of me

I tell you this much is true,
gonna say a thing or two,
of th things I could do for you,
I may not be "John Holmes",
or have a "HORSES" bone,

there are so many wounderful truly heart felt poems posted from 2006
that i cant make my mind up.

This is realy good, if someone wants to chose a poem thatis already
posted here, it will be good because if the poem is chose, many times by
different people, that goes to show it was one of the best poems......

Friends come to us like strangers in the night
They bring with them sunshine that is so bright
At times they seem to just appear out of no where.
They touch our hearts and souls and are so dear.
There smiles and words come across so vey clear.
Every morning, noon and night they make our day.
The laughter they bring with them they send our way.
But for some reason before we even have time to blink.
As we look for there name its gone we can only think.
Was it something that I did? No, that I do not believe.
At times there is no reason,It was just time for them to leave.
Friendship is something you give like a special gift.
We strive for it and cherish it for the rest of our life.
Some how they have managed to touch your heart to the soul.
When they leave it leaves dark hole that burns like coal.
But, don't let it bring a dark shadow to your day.
Remember they did make you smile and this is just there way.
At times they could bring and instant smile to your face.
They felt as if they were home, finally they found a place.
To be with friends so far away and yet so very near.
But then there comes a time to leave even those so very dear.
As we go through life we look back and wonder why?
Did they have to go, and why did they not even say bye.
Life it but a journey a road we all will travel down each day.
We never know what we will find or what might come our way.
Never forget the ones that cross our path each time.

Buffalo Spirit

I stand above the plain of many grasses
Seeking out my spirit brother
You feed my people
You give us shelter
I hunt and only take what I need
Leaving many of your women and young
To carry on so I may hunt again another day.
I am old now
I stand above the plain of many grasses

White man has come
Hunting you until there are no more
Leaving and wasting precious food to this people,
I call to you now my spirit brother
Buffalo come to me now and take this old man to the spirit world,
