Not going to get much action here, sweetie.
Of course, I'm going to have to say the Marquis De Sade, for obvious reasons. Plato's Allegory of the Cave was one of my favorite's though. But seriously, good luck with this topic in here. |

I am not into any specific philosophy but I like to think about the philosophy that comes my way. Neiche is always good though, and his insight on the supermen was interesting.

Oh Oh Oh I like Charles Peirce and William James, even though their views on truth based purely on principle and situation were overly simplistic they also blended the earlier views of Philosophical thought with scientific insight... I'm a very logical person so this form of philosophy is easier to understand rather than the metaphysical thoughts of those like Albert Camus, but I am reading his newest book hopefully it'll make more sense than his articles, because I'll be the first one to tell you I understand where he's coming from but how he gets from one point of the ethics of society to something about the divine guiding supertruth throws me...

He didn't really say what government type we should have, but he did criticize how democracy frowns on individuality, and though the strength of the leaders are rewarded, values of free thought and spirit are undermined and punished. |

Camus is amazing though he isn't a metaphysical philosopher, he's an absurdist. Well he started off as a metaphysical philosopher, although he might now be classified as an absurdist he is still a powerful figure in metaphysical philosophy as his inital views on the focus on the individual human being, responsible before the universe for the authenticity of his or her existence makes him a metaphysist, just an absurd one. |

Hmmm Well most of his philosophy tends to direct individuals to embrace the absurdity and nothingness of their being... thats practical, though saying its practical is a little ironic, but like Sartre he tried to find a way for humans to take Heideggers idea of understanding the ontological being by how to put it into practice. So it comes from metaphysics but isnt metaphysical |
