Like most Experts, especially on TV, he brings his own issues to his decision making process.

Seems to me he has some major issues with his own parents and gets a little heavy handed and self righteous about how he is the perfect parent. That he has not endured a spouse who drifted back into the addictions her parents had, a child who is sick or disabled, or got overwhelmed by fame or drugs that are at his finger tips 24/7, his biggest "disability" is baldness, and how thin would he be if he didn't have his own tennis court, extensive gym, and expert medical care to cope or that his rather unusual job skills have never landed him on the unemployment line so it is not all about his own choices seems really good fortune so far. Maybe he was lucky and ended up not the one child left behind in the Texas school system but I wonder if he was just poor enough on paper early that he got scholarships for the education that has definitely given him the leg up. He admidts to doing a few things that had he been short, of color, or non-christian would have had him locked up or locked out. That America is looking for a Father figure or at least a big brother to cheerlead we aren't in way over our heads on many things is what many of us want to hear.

That he openly discriminates against People who have mental health histories being audience member sure got hushed up fast but then it is ok to discriminate gainst anyone who isn't boosting your rateings. Ever noticed he tends to only have the really pretty well dressed audiance members panned on camera? Wonder how sharp he would look if by his own admission his wife dresses him and his handlers make the "taste" decisions.
I think the newer formats of being "journalistic" is a bad joke. Probably only marginally better than the supposedly theraputic "Dr. Phil House" that has been regurgitated per episodes so many times I think I am going to throw up. Minor miracle that someone hasn't gotten really messed up. The teens have since the update shows sure don't show many of them any better off for all the resources and money he has to thrown at them.
Yea I admidt watching but can't say would see he is the solution to many real problems that I am going to face. Seems like and over paid over simplistic clichet to be any real leader in the self help movement. I will give him credit some of the people who do advise him impress me more.
