Shalom, Miles. I may check out that site you recommend. It sounds interesting. And I'm always up for learning more about Passover. It's a subject that fascinates me and that I don't understand much. I think there are several questions involved, aren't there? One's something like "Why is this night different from all others?" I also understnad that there's a few different times unleavened bread is wrapped in a napkin and presented: perhaps broken and hidden for children to find. I know there's bitter herbs and lambs involved (I think) and there's serveral glasses of wine. I'd be interested in knowing what blessings are recited over which glasses of wine and if the psalms are still recited after the passover meal. Is Passover one night or six or seven? Are there certain psalms associated wtih each night or are all the psalms for each night (I think it's psalms 111 thru 119 if I'm not mistaken.

At any rate, Shabbat Shalom to you, too (forgive my misspelling, please). And, God Bless You, Miles.

I wanted you to know I had not forgot your questions. I have started on it in my word processor. To do it justice I believe I need to show how perfect Yahweh's plan is between the OT and NT. Passover is a very important study that takes some prayer and guidance to show how Yahshua was the perfect Lamb of Yahweh....Blessings...Miles

Shalom

Sorry I have not got back to you earlier. Passover is a very important season. The Israelites had been in slavery for 430 years. The Death Angel flew over they killed a lamb and put it’s blood over their doorposts. This would insure that non of their 1st born died. Yahweh was getting them ready for this as he had them bring in a spotless lamb 4 days before the death Angel came.
Ex 12:3-5
3 Speak to all the congregation of Israel, saying: 'On the tenth of this month every man shall take for himself a lamb, according to the house of his father, a lamb for a household. 4 And if the household is too small for the lamb, let him and his neighbor next to his house take it according to the number of the persons; according to each man's need you shall make your count for the lamb.
NKJV

They or it comes to us now. On the 10th day of the 1st month they brought this lamb into their house as a member of their family. I would guess they became very attached to that lamb in 4 days. This relating to our savior was a 1st born lamb. Then on the eve of the 14th day they would kill it and put the blood on the doorposts and lintel. What I do find interesting hear is Pharoah had refused Moses to let them go. Then Yahweh’s Passover was killed being a 1st born lamb that the people had become attached to. This blood protested them as all the 1st born of Egypt was killed.

To understand this 1st Passover we must understand this was a foreshadowing of Yahshua Being the 1st Born son of Yahweh. Also the 1st born of the dead. Also notice how the Israelites were to be that night.

Ex 12:11
And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Yahweh’s Passover.
NKJV

To me the key here is this is called Yahweh’s Passover.. When our Messiah died wasn’t he Yahweh’s Passover?

I think if we stop here and go to before Yahshua was going to be this Passover we will find so much symbolism between the 2.

Luke 19:34-38

34 And they said, "The Master has need of him." 35 Then they brought him to Yahshua. And they threw their own clothes on the colt , and they set Yahshua on him. 36 And as He went, many spread their clothes on the road.

37 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise Elohim with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, 38 saying:

"'Blessed is the King who comes in the name of Yahweh!'
NKJV

Yahshua knew what he was entering Jerusalem for. This was the 10th day of the 1st month. The same day that the lamb was brought into the house. Now where did Yahshua go and do when he came into Jerusalem?

Luke 19:45-48

Then He went into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it, 46 saying to them, "It is written, 'My house is a house of prayer,' but you have made it a 'den of thieves.'"

47 And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people sought to destroy Him, 48 and were unable to do anything; for all the people were very attentive to hear Him.
NKJV

He went to his Fathers house. Ran off the moneychangers and thieves. And began teaching and healing all who came to him. The Lamb of Yahweh came to his children. Who four the next 4 days he taught them so much and before his death. If you have a red lettered bible. Pick out in the 4 evangels where he entered Jerusalem as The Lamb of Yahweh. What did you find? there is more recorded about what Yahshua taught and said than the rest of all his ministry. It is Awesome. When a man knows he is about to die what does he do? His children come to him as he wants to say all he can to them before he is gone. To teach them.

This is the prophecy that the priests and scribes knew he was speaking of them. Then they sought to kill him.

Isa 56:6-8
Also the sons of the foreigner
Who join themselves to the Master, to serve Him,
And to love the name of Yahweh, to be His servants —
Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant —
7 Even them I will bring to My holy mountain,
And make them joyful in My house of prayer .
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
Will be accepted on My altar;
For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."

8 Yahweh Elohim, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says,
"Yet I will gather to him
Others besides those who are gathered to him."
NKJV

This had to be a slap in the face of the Temple keepers for they were in charge to keep it Holy.
He was speaking of the Gentiles which were to come freely into his fathers will.

In the beginning the Blood of the lamb on the 1st Passover was protection from the death Angel.

Yahshua did this same thing when he had the Passover with his brethern.

John 17:6-19
I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.

9 "I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
NKJV

Notice 2 things Yahshua says in his prayer to the father about his disciples..

1 John 17:6-7
They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word.
NKJV
To be a disciple that Yahshua intercedes for you must keep his Fathers word.
2 John 17:15-19
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
NKJV

This was said Passover Evening. This time though instead of the death Angel the people needing the blood of the lamb. Yahshua had already sealed his fate and knew that Satan would attach them during and after this day. As he gave them the to drink of his blood and eat of his body as the 1st Passover did also.

In the 1st Passover they were ready to go. Leave Egypt.

Ex 12:11
And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Yahweh’s Passover.
NKJV
The people or disciples were anxious and scared that night as they knew not for sure what was going to happen. In Ex. This night is called

Ex 12:41-42
41 And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years — on that very same day — it came to pass that all the armies of Yahweh went out from the land of Egypt. 42 It is a night of solemn observance to Yahweh for bringing them out of the land of Egypt. This is that night of Yahweh, a solemn observance for all the children of Israel throughout their generations.
NKJV
Now we can look earlier and see from the statement on this very day. That this special night is Passover to be observed all night as a solemn observance.

Again we can see this night was being kept in Israel the night Yahshua was arrested.

1 The Disciples were scorned by Yahshua for not staying awake.

Matt 26:44-46

44 So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words. 45 Then He came to His disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us be going. See, My betrayer is at hand."
NKJV

2 The scribes and High priest were awake.

Matt 26:57-58
and those who had laid hold of Yahshua led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. 58 But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest's courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end.
NKJV
Peter followed in the wee hours of the morning.

3 Matt 26:69

Now Peter sat outside in the courtyard. And a servant girl came to him, saying, "You also were with Yahshua of Galilee."
NKJV Luke 22:54-56

Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest's house. But Peter followed at a distance. 55 Now when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them. 56 And a certain servant girl, seeing him as he sat by the fire , looked intently at him and said, "This man was also with Him.
NKJV

The observance of Passover was being done as was told. The people being up all night ready for anything that may happen.

I will leave it their and write more later.I hope you can see how the Passover in Ex. And The lamb of Yahweh being slain are identical in spirit. That the 1st Passover was set up for this very day the same as the Israelites had been slaves for 430 years to Passover also.
Blessings..Miles
