I call him a kid but he's 20, and anyway, he's kind of mentally challenged and stuff, but I don't particularly like him, but he calls me ALL THE TIME! I seriously regret giving him my number, but he was new and looked kinda lonely so I thought hey give him someone to talk to, but apparently even though we have only seen each other once, he calls me all the freaking time and talks only about himself never lets me get a word in. And now I find out he likes me "more than a friend" and is sending me his love and care, and apparently all of his heart so he wrote in a message. Help? Be straight forward with him. You put yourself in the situation because you felt bad for him. Now you are feeling bad for yourself. Don't pretend you are something you are not. If you don't particularly like him then you should have never played "nice girl" and gave him your number. I know guys that are like that without the handicap. Take better judgement in giving your number out. I know, that's a good policy, but I am a nice girl I can't help that. I just can't help but feel sorry for some people. |

you did the honorable thing by being a friend to this new and apparantly lonely kid. your heart was and still is in the right place. the only thing is this kid is "energy focused" on you in a somewhat misguided way.
help him to find more people to be his friend or people he can hangout with. some people suggested you tell him that your friendship is only friendship and not to be misread to mean anything else.if that fails then change your number.. or monitor your calls. |

If he really is mentally challenged as you stated, then you need to keep in perpective "what age is he mentally?" Most likely, he has a mild crush on you. If you can't handle that then you need to break off all contact. He will be better off if you do. He may be hurt for a bit, but the truth is he WILL get over you. The real question is will you get over someone getting over you?
