DONT WORK!!! You can restart your computer in DOS and just used the keyboard. You can even print.

take the little ball out and clean it off and pop it back in .. also make sure it is plugged in with the connections

start menu>settings>control panel>accessibility options>"mouse" tab>use mouse keys now you can use your number pad as crappy substitute for your mouse its functional enough to get things done, but crappy enough to remind you how much you need an honest-to-goodness mouse.

Better yet- spend some REAL money and get a laser mouse instead. Sure, they're a little more expensive, but they're much more accurate than an optical or ball mouse. They also supposedly last a little longer, too.
