Sometimes you just have to clean out your life. And cleaning out your stuff is a good way to start. I know several people who have no problems throwing things out. I want to know the secret. Cause it makes cleaning out and clearing out a nightmare. I end up with a bigger mess than when I started. If you know the secret, can you tell me....

I used to save everything. Got divorced, started new job, sold house all at once. I figured while moving if I have not used the item in over 2 years I was never going to........threw it all out. Was hard, but believe me, I am glad I did it.....lol............Good Luck

I wish I knew.

Gov't investigators came by my house last month and said I qualify for Katrina Disaster Relief.

And I live in Wisconsin!

My rule is if I have not used it in a year, get rid of it. If I have not worn it in two years, toss it (that keeps me from tossing the winter clothes..lol)

that's my philosophy....if it hadn't gotten used or looked at in a year or two then it was time to go:wink:

That's what I finally figured out. If I haven't seen it or used it in two years...then I don't need it. I give it all to charity.

I'm trying to get ready to move from a house back to an apartment. Had to change jobs cause of health and stress and now make way less and can't afford it anymore. It is a serious challenge. Seems like I spend more time moving stuff around than actually weeding anything out.

I have done this so many times. The best rule of thumb:

1. If you haven't used it for 2 years, throw it out!
2. Ask yourself why you want to keep the item and see if it makes sense.

You have to be real honest and hard when you do this!

3. Would charity benefit more from the item than you will if it's sitting in your attic, drawer, closet, garage, etc for the next few years?
