thats by far the stupidest thing to judge somebody on.

beats up girls
town drunk
crack head
never bathes
jobless
lives with his mom still at the age of 45
criminal

oh yeah thats all fine but if he listens to country oh to hell with him!

yeah that makes complete sense let me tell ya!

I never said I thought or knew this. A friend told me this may be true. I also think it is very stupid to judge someone based on what they listen to. It seems more of a cop out to not like someone than anything else.

bgeorge you would seriously consider not dating someone because of their taste in music?

Not sure I'm supposed to answer b/c I'm not "young" but I've never judged by someone's music.. If we don't like the same music then we find a happy medium when we're listening together..

i'm sorry but that is still the dumbest thing i have heard in a long long time. lets take this one step further shall we? if they like a different style of movie, like a different color, maybe wear their hair in a different style, wear jeans instead of cackies, wear t-shirts instead of button down shirts.....

starts sounding really superficial doesn't it? now i could swore the point of dating wasn't to rule out as many people based on stupid personal likes but to find somebody who was a decent human being. you say you love any kind of music yet you just said pop is crap and you wont tolerate it so does that mean that only the music you like is good music? and to further that since you wont date people who listen to pop only people who don't listen to pop are worth while individuals.........

ok this is just plain ol ignorant, and you make yourself sound even more ignorant for stating it. personally i hate rap, pop, disco but i wouldn't go as far to say it's all crap and i wouldn't date somebody who listened to it. thats just stuck up.

I agree Azrae1l. Isn't part of dating learning about someone and tolerating their shortcomings or differences? If we were all the same what would be the point in getting to know someone. I just think my friend believes 18-20 year old girls are shallow and superficial (I think most are, but obviously some aren't). I know girls who are 'punk' or 'rock' and who can tolerate their possible boyfriend listening to rap or something else. I don't understand the logic behind judging music taste. If you can't tolerate it just listen to something else when you're with them.

I didn't mean it to be for only young people it's just my friend said it about girls our age. I'm 19 so obviously I would be considered young here.

Yeah, I don't know about that one. To "judge" someone purely based on what one person listens to is rediculous.. But I think music is a huge part of a lot of peoples' lives, not just "young women". But I suppose younger people are vain in that aspect. I see a lot of younger people that want a partner almost like themselves, thinking they'll get along better or something.
And I dunno, when you're with anyone, you don't wanna hear them say "shut that **** off" all the time, right? ^^''

I listen to all kinds of music, too.. Techno, rap, metal, old skool rock.. So I guess that helps.. But it also helps to be open-minded and see the good things about it too.. Like the beat, or how deep the lyrics are.. ^^ I love music. =)
