I know I have seen it work the other way around..occasionally at work I get put into groups with young accountants..and you can see on their faces when they see me..oh, crap, we are gonna have to work with a granny...but then I make them laugh and I say things they never heard their grandma say; and I know some of their music and the shows they like..they always end up hugging me and then keeping in touch.

Happens to me all the time... People automatically assume I'm a smart ass sarcastic black dude who just pops in, makes bizarre (yet occasionally insightful)remarks, and then just disappears, but then, when they talk to me they realize I'm just a smart ass sarcastic black dude who just pops in, makes bizarre (yet occasionally insightful)remarks, and then just disappears. smokin

Have you ever had a first impression of someone that may not have been so good, then after you get the chance to spend some time with them and get to know them, you find that they are really an awesome and decent person? I guess giving everyone the benefit of the doubt is a good thing.

I have and have been wrong and felt like a jerk but have also found that 9 out of 10 my gut instinct is right.. happy

when i get that gut feeling i go ahead and explore but with extreme caution. there have been times that i found a wonderful person inside who was just having a moment or a bad day...as we all have them. i love you indn!!! feel better!!!flowerforyou

I try to give them time to show who and what they are.

Sometimes our first impression of someone may not be acurate.
