how do you react?

I usually tell him to get a job.

I would give it to him....that's just how I am though

I remind them where the soup kitchens are... and the local shelter. However, in most cases I know them, so I tell them to go see their caseworkers.

Ask them for a social security #, to claim them as a dependant
( joking) Give them some change.......

And the reason I say this, is because where I used to work. I would get asked all the damn time.
 Once I even gave my leftover pizza to this dude that asked me for money and I watched him throw it in the trash. Ungrateful...grrrrrrrr

I usually tell him to get a job. I do the same. Hell, some of those guys standing on a coner all day make more money then some people that work

i always give it when i have it...you never know circumstances...thats someones family

i give it to them if i have it because i will just blow it on junk anyway. and people say to me they will just buy booze with it and i always tell them i don't care what they do with it. just so they have more fun with it than i would have.

I usually don't like strangers coming up to me...especially if they ask me for money. I would think they would look down my wallet, see my money, grab it and run. But, I am kind so I may pull out a little something in exchange that someone would be kind to me if I was in that situation. Sad.

I usually tell him to get a job. me too.... they usually have the bad timing to ask me when I am just getting out of work ,,,

And if it is food, buy him food... and also offer shelter, or referral to shelter. |

Not to sound overly harsh, but most people are homeless because they choose to be.
It's not always that simple, but if they chose drugs and/or alcohol over all else, then that is what they choose. |

last time a homless guy asked me for some chash, i made him do a little dance for a doller.
 <.< >.> what, dont look at me like that. if i was going to give him money, i want him to earn it.
