well the problem that I think happens is that online dating without the face to face meeting can lead one or both parties to creating a fantasy person someone that no one can live up too .. also the online persona is that who this person really is .. I think that it can cloud the emotions and perspective of one or both parties .. jmho

online dating is kinda like placing reservations at a fancy restraunt ....it's something you want to do but can cancel anytime.....don't cancel your reservationss though

I would think it depends on how people perceives online dating. I like to meet people online because it brings states together on one screen. For my security, I prefer to meet a person face to face for dating. IM'ing or sending messages to the person is a way to get to know the person...their likes and dislikes; their personalities. Once you agree to meet in real person...that's when the fun begins...or vise versa. Sometimes, people just like to see who is out there.

I am not saying that the persona is not who you are ,, I am saying that it is possible that you don't get the whole picture .. I do not log on when I am stressing over bills , taxes , my daughters stuff , you all don't see how I handle the daily dribble .. online dating is sort of like being on vacation .. and you also can go do other stuff and get away simply by logging out .. I think that the emotions tied to it are real just not sure if the reasoning behind it is pure .. I am sorting this question out in my head while I am typing .. Feeling are not something any of us can explain .. I just think that you have to sort of filter things on line and make sure that you are not building a building with no foundation ... jmo
