Sounds like there’s a conflict between the right to privacy and the freedom of speech.

There is no conflict. There is a right to freedom of speech in the constitution and there is no right to privacy in the constitution.

Think about it. If the freedom of speech laws say what you claim, then theoretically you could have people knocking at your door ever five minutes and not be able to do anything about it. Even atheists would be permitted by law to pass out their pamphlets. You doorstep could end up looking like a paper waste disposal plant.

"what you claim"...you wrote all that and you didn't follow the link? A city made a law that prevented JWs from going door to door without a permit. They fought it to the supreme court and the court "reversed and remanded" the case. That means that the law was reverse and the lower court had to come back with a different decision. I seriously am boggled that you said "what you claim"...it's right there in black and white. Follow the link.

I don’t know why you are so boggled.

The world we live in is a rainbow of colors.

Only a fools see things in black and white.

Dogma is only dogma for those who can’t see beyond the words.

The rest of us live in Technicolor. bigsmile

A supreme court ruling is still a supreme court ruling, even when you are on acid.

Dogma is only dogma for those who can’t see beyond the words.

You never miss a chance to attack religion, do you? That's a really sad way to be, to have to try to offend others with your childish tantrums in order to be happy. This wasn't about religion, it was about a supreme court ruling. The supreme court isn't a religion.

The word dogma isn't confined to only refer to religion. Even authoritarians can be dogmatic about how they view manmade law. This is why we have courts. So that cases can be presented to show where the legal loopholes are. laugh

I give everything the widest possible birth of abstraction. You prefer to live your life in absolutes.

That’s your choice.

This is my choice.

Clearly we’ll never see eye-to-eye. All we can ever hope to do is agree to disagree for all of eternity. flowerforyou

I would never recommend a wild animal to live with a family....Even mine are only in the house when kittens and then in pens until released......so no.......as much as they are beautiful I would never want them to be kept as pets....they belong in God's country. I just released a mom cougar and two cubs.....it was hard but so right yanno.

Well, they are working on domesticating Servals. Personally, I can't control what happens in the wild, so I am a strong believer in conseration through captive breeding. That's the only reason why we still have many species of reptiles and amphibians, otherwise they would be extinct.

How much can you really dometicate a wild animal......Honestly you can't because they will revert back to their wild ways....Give you an example....I have a possum (opossum) that I dound at a couple days old.....so for all accounts and purposes to Louie I am mom.......But there have been a few occasions that he has turned to his wild ways........and yea it scares me to death.....usually when first wakes up and hungry.....So no matter how much you think can domesicate you honestly can't. I do totally agree and am heavily involved in conservation, but their is a difference between captive breeding to keep a species alive. And captive breeding to sell as pets.....very againist.

Now for Louie the awesome possum.....I can't release him back into the wild because he would never make it. And I weighed the decision before I kept him very heavily.....With me putting him back in the wild he would live two years.....cars and humans being his biggest threat.....Or I could keep him and he would live 7+ years....so he is now part of my family.....can see pics of him here.....So I also think individual decision is required for this also.

Now if you had Louie and 10 females...over a course of several generations, you could breed a domesticated possum. It would take many generations and would probably breed out other physical and mental characteristics, but it can be done. Ferrets are so domesticated at this point, that a pet ferret is the only domesticated animal which cannot go feral.
