I guess my feeling when I began this thread was frustration at meeting so many lovely people but none of them close enough to meet casually. If I didn't frequent the forums (which I kind of enjoy) I wouldn't expose myself to the ones who live so far away and then end up fantasizing about how wonderful it would be to meet them.ohwell

A friend of mine, whom I introduced the net to, met and married a man from the usa from one of these sites.......so anything is possible!flowerforyou

My daughter met her husband online...she was here in Washington, he is a native kiwi from New Zealand. They have been married almost 10 years now. flowerforyou drinker bigsmile

It's not so much the distance...it's the willingness and desire two people have to make it work. When it is what both people want, they work together to overcome any and ALL obstacules...JMO! flowerforyou

Allen, the forums are so fun, that is why I stay on. Too many friends now.

Lucky me though, I have a great guy, and he lives 20 minutes from me. He doesn't do the forum thing.

He knows Im addicted so its all good.

I would fly to the end of the earth to be with the right person. Its not a matter of distance, its a matter of sacrifice for that special person.............

Hey (((Allen))))flowerforyou Thank you for this thread. It couldn't come at a more appropriate time for me.

As others have so elequoently pointed out, IF you want to make it work, it can. I have ~proof~ bigsmile My best friend.

She was the one who "invited" me to try itgrumble grumble grumble And even though I saw it, I can't say I ever BELIEVED itnoway noway noway

Today, I can truly say, I would go to the ends of the earth, even give up myisland to become a "we". All it took, was the "one"love flowerforyou

My parameters have always been set to a reasonable distance. (50 miles) but have yet to speak to even one likely potential candidate, even so. Most people I've been super attracted to, I've met in the forums.

I can totally relate to this. I set mine to 250 (just because that's the last setting before "entire world") and there has never been a viable prospect within the area. And the few that seemed like possibilities don't post in the forums and don't respond to e-mails. And I'm really not interested in meeting people from Uzbekistan.

Of course I'd not let distance deter me in an actual relationship... What I'm talking about is long distance blind dating... and having a relationship with my keyboard and screen, even my phone...
Thanks for that input hon. flowerforyou
