Wow, so positive! I'm really impressed. This is a great thread with a positive message. Love and unity while bashing Christians.

It’s just an observation of the real world.

Look at the words,... “Spreading hate for Jesus’ sake, it's such an oxymoron”.

The oxymoron comment says it all.

Anyone who actually uses the religion to spread hate clearly doesn’t understand the religion to begin with.

And we know that throughout history there are a myriad of examples where the followers of this religion didn’t have a clue. The Crusades come to mind. Witch burnings, even the book of Joshua is a pretty sad piece of history if true. That was just a crusade that actually made it into the religion doctrine itself. Such a shame. But that was the Old Testament so we can ignore it.

To pretend that it’s all just honey and roses is to be blind to human history.

I would think that the only people who would feel that this is a negative limerick would be those who actually want to use the religion to spread hate. Otherwise they would just read it and say, “Of course that would be an oxymoron and I would never do that.”

You know Abra, I am used to your denials. I used to get angry, I couldn't understand how you could deny something that you clearly stated. I don't care anymore. If anyone wants to believe your half-hearted defense of your libel, then they have every right to make themselves the fool. I really think that the irony is delicous. A thread named "No Negativity Please" and I am the only one who calls you on your insult against one of the worlds great religions and the practitioners thereof. I don't care, I enjoy the hypocracy and irony of the whole thing. So please, carry on.

What you seem to be totally unable to accept is that there are a lot of people out there who abuse the religion for their own egotistical agendas. Do you support people who abuse the religion in this way?

If not, then you should also see it as a positive message to not use Christianity to spread hate.

A lot of people do use it that way you know. Some people even think they are the spokesperson for the religion and use it to egotistically beat other people’s beliefs and philosophies into the ground.

Surely you don’t condone that kind of behavior.

I just watched “Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood”.

I enjoy human-interest stories.

One scene that really struck home with me was when Ellen Burstyn was standing in the ring of sparklers and asking the Holy Spirit to make sure her daughter doesn’t miss out on love. Then she says to the Holy Spirit, “pass that on to the son and father if it’ll help”. I thought that was cute.
