Who do you think grieves more during a break up? men or women?
Watching my teenagers, it's difficult to decide. My 14 year old boy had his heart broken. He wouldn't talk to anyone for days. My 15 year old daughter had her heart broken and she masked it by finding someone else right away. But they both were hurting. Speaking from an adult view, I hurt pretty bad if my heart is broken. So which do you think? |

Hmmm I feel that is a unanswerable question.... men grieve, women grieve, some women are external grievers, some are internal... so are men.
Gender doesn't have dibs on grief... People do. |

Depending on the individual...I think we all hurt... we just have different ways of expressing it... as youve experienced with your children..

I think its not the sex its the person.

I don’t think it has as much to do with gender, as much as it does someone’s personality.

IMO it is the individual that did not initiate the breakup.

most women are good at ACTING as if they're grieving, as they're good at masking their true emotions with alligator tears. i don't personally don't think they grieve more than men, though.

It cuts both ways.....

I think it all depends on how emotional the person is. Men can be just...if not more emotional...than women. it just all depends on the circumstances.

IMO it is the individual that did not initiate the breakup. this is probably the best answer to this question. |

lots of good responses. my mom and i had this discussion earlier. she seems to think men take it harder for some reason. she says that men really put their whole heart in to it when they do give it away to someone.and women don't as much. they always have a bit of a reserve. she also thinks that men have this built in feeling that they think all women must want them. i disagree with her there. i think my mom's kinda looney if you ask me lol
well i personally don't keep that reserve. i give my whole heart and when i get hurt, i get hurt and i don't mask it. i stay at home (kinda like now only i'm not hurting) for days, weeks months or however long it takes to get over it. sometimes it takes longer, but i'll keep on trying to find someone that fills that whole and makes that hurt go away. |
