I saw a needle in the trash
When I got back from the store I thought you said you weren’t Going to do that anymore Your mom said “Can you take her? I don’t know what to do And you’re the only one She ever listens to” Yeah, I guess I could’ve tried harder I guess I gave up too soon But you couldn’t stay away from the bad stuff Like the time you stabbed me in the bathroom The last time that I saw you You were living in the woods And the things you were doing to survive None of them were good You didn’t listen to me after all And by now you’re probably dead I wish I could go back and fix your life Or maybe I should fix mine instead |

 Soooooo been there with one of my sons. At some point even though we love them- we have to let go. It took me along time to let my son go. Still there for him- still love him- but no longer let him drag me down to drown with him. Hardest thing I ever did...
