darn donnie,,,,,,,man u really know how to get a good one started this early in th morning,,,,,,ok now for a question,,do u want to stop smoking???or were you really ofended about an old man getting in your face about it,,,,,,to be honest,,,,a lot of people offended me when i was a smoker,,,,,th good thing,,,i have smelt a cigg in my house or trucks,cars for over 3 years now,,,,,,it's nice,,,,,if u want to test th waters,,,,try walking into a bar th frist thing inth morning befor they had time to air it out an clean it yeah I'm actually on my last pack right now, tired of smoking it just seemed really out of place to me thats all plus I wanted to start a new thread

darn,,,,lost my gun,,,ok that was a joke some one must of really steped on your toes,,,,on an internet web site,,,,,,thats easy to get done,,,,,,,but for as long as i have ben on jsh,,,,,,hasn't happen ,,,,ok very little,,,,,,,u want to see rude down rite mean people,,,,try posting on pof,,,,thoe s women over there will rip u apart for no reason,,,,,also i think th way you weree raised an where your from has a lot to do with it Oh please, I was on POF for all of about 10 minutes, I hate that site! I don't think it's where you're raised but how. My son's 12, is incredibly nice and polite most of the time and when he's not, believe me he hears it. And he's under death threats if I ever hear about him being deliberately mean to anyone
I was on POF. I met five guys. The first was Rick, the control freak. The second was John who did nothing but talk about Salsa dancing, Salsa lessons, and Salsa events. The third was Ben. His picture depicted a tall, dark good-looking guy with gorgeous white teeth and smile. Oh yeah! He showed up was average height, grey-haired, definitely not good-looking, and what was with the bad teeth? Then there was man number four. That was John, another tall, dark, good-looking guy. (You would have thought I had learned my lesson, but hope beats eternal in this breast!) Anyway, John was short, overweight and white haired and in his late sixties or seventies. The fifth guy ..... you don't want to hear about him! So, no one needs to tell this lady about POF. |

that sounds awful! I was on for like 5 minutes and had 3 guys IM me and all they wanted was to cyber, haven't been back since. Did meet one guy who e-mailed me, we talked for a couple of weeks, he asked me out and I never heard from him again. Can't figure out the point of that

ok, here was the situation..... I was on a break at like 3:30 in the mornin, standin outside smoking, when this older gentlemen goes out of his way to walk up to me and say you need to stop smoking(really rudly though) at first I thought he was just playin around(I'd seen him around alot) so I just chuckled and smiled....when he stood there for another min or two just looking at me I realized he was serious...the only thing I could think to say at that point was...WOW....shook my head and came inside... what was that all about? donnie..... You cannot condemn a whole group for the actions of one person. I injured my shoulder/arm and have not been able to drive since January 8th. Therefore, I am forced to take public transportation. Consequently, for the first time in my life I am interacting with so many people. It is a bit obvious that I am handicapped (with the arm, that is) and I have been amazed over the people who have gone out of their way for me. If I get on a crowded bus, there is always someone who gets up and gives me a seat. The other day as I got on the bus, the bus went around a sharp curve, I nearly fell when I was attempting to get to my seat. The bus driver asked if I was okay. I could go on and on ..... |

Cali for an incredibly insightful intelligent woman.... you ask what is ageism?
Considering the subject matter, and a reference to racism.... it shouldn't take a PHD to figure out what ageism is. It is the prejudice and discrimination of someone because of their age, more specifically towards older people, and geriatrics. |

Apparently professional caregiver isnt my occupation. That word isn't a common word used in the medical field. I would know, doing 948938758939035875739458483 inservices.. I can tell ya the intolerable words that are mentioned.. that was never one of them.. Geriatric is a defining word of a age group of people.. it isnt "ageism"..

I can tell ya the intolerable words that are mentioned.. that was never one of them.. Geriatric is a defining word of a age group of people.. it isnt "ageism".. So you work with geriatrics? And it isn't in your vocabulary? The definition is written into all ENGLISH speaking social welfare, and WORLD HEALTH documents related to the medical, and social welfare texts... interesting... I googled ageism, and got many AMERICAN references to it, and most of them medical and social pdf documents. |

If the thread had been worded so why... are some african american, so rude and mean for no apparent reason, it would and could be seen as a racist comment... targeting older people in such a generalised form is still frowned upon, read the forum rules. |
