I love CNN, buncha people giving their opinion on events, instead of actually reporting them. You guys can go to youtube and see some clips, its mildly amusing. But then again, it is CNN, one step down from NPR.

"everybody" did not forget about watergate. Ford was never elected president because he pardoned Nixon. We were more angry at Nixon over Vietnam than watergate. Because Ford pardoned Nixon, we got Jimmy Carter for the USA's most backward president. He was a total embarassment.

Not surprised that Bush slipped in a "safety" about not being held for war crimes. That should cover everything he has done as far as Iraq is concerned. He is a self rightous jackass, to say the very least!!

It was his fault!! He wanted to go to war with Iraq so bad, that he made up total fabrications about weapons of mass destruction to make sure we did go to war. 8 yrs later we are still there!!

Al Queda/the terrorists were in Afghanistan, not Iraq!! Thats the only place we had any business being after 9/11!!

Pardons himself!! Pffft!!

Can't believe that you are so naive that you believe all that you just said.
Oh well

How about the Web Hubble hush money...anyone forget about that?
The Clintons were the biggest crooks ever to be in office.

And all the rape allegations that were squashed as well. So I think the only thing they didn't get accused of was murder.

Yes we are a nation of idiots, if you think this is something big. The government does this stuff everyday, you just don't hear about it, so it doesn't matter.

Bush is better than a lot of other presidents that we have had, especially Bill Clinton
Just because he doesn't do or say whet he thinks you want to hear so he can have your vote,...no...He does what he thinks is best for the country, even though he knows it may cost him votes.
The Clintons and Obama have a habbit of telling you what you want to hear so you will vote for them, and then if that isn't enough votes, they will reverse their decision ...whatever it takes to get them the most votes, and not what's best.

People really need to just STOP being stunned and the crap that comes outta DC. You all should look through ALL the bills that congress passes, and see how your tax money is being thrown around. They've had budget bills that were barely passed because the wasn't enough money to support every part of goverment, but congress passed a 9-10% pay raise. We can do without emergency services some places, and we don't really need new roads or bridges, but God helps us if the representatives don't get their raises each year.

You all have so much you should be mad about, but you never take the time to look around and see what's out there. Everyone on Capitol hill is a criminal, so quit acting all surprised.

Everybody is so quick to blame everything on Bush

. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes. not their fault. They cooperate in Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a SPEAKER, who stood up and criticized G.W. BUSH for creating deficits.

The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow Democrats, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts - of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense over runs, that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.

When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist. If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red. If the Marines are in IRAQ, it's because they want them in IRAQ. There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exist disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation" or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do. Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses - provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees. We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess.

George Bush Pardons Himself Against War Crimes
In this 2006 video, the House of Representatives just passed President Bush's bill and the Senate was expected to do the the same thing. Buried deep inside the legislation is a provision that will pardon George Bush and all the members of his administration of any possible crimes connected with the torture and mistreatment of detainees dated all the way back to September 11, 2001. At least Richard Nixon had Gerald Ford do his dirty, Bush is trying to pardon himself.

Note: The 109th congress did pass the bill - back when the GOP controlled both houses. Its not that Bush tricked them into anything, its that the GOP leadership rubber-stamped everything and anything he wanted them to.

noway noway noway noway noway noway How the hell did we miss this one??????noway noway huh

congress has to do it

and maybe as with nixion it would be best to put it behind the us and move on

besides if there are war crime charges it matters not what congress says or does

if the world war crime commision (or whatever they are called)
go after them

so do not get to upset about it

war crimes are a world issue not a national issue

as such the congress can not pardon them

I have heard those things before but never verified for myself. If true I would be shocked and dismayed. I am a humanitarian after all.

But what does that have to do with a president forgiving himself for crimes, just by doing that he admits to the crimes!!!noway
