To arcades? I know that with the home gaming systems now that there is really no need for them, but sometimes I get nostalgic and remember having just ruthless money battles on the first Mortal Kombat, or the Street Fighter duels from hell. Wrestlefest, the shoot'um up's with your best friend as your partner by your side. I miss those days.

Around here anyways your lucky if you find anything like that anymore. mostly just race games, or claw machines, but those classic days of pissing people off who used Raiden, Simply by repeatedly tripping them over and over, making them so mad they really wanted to fight. I guess they are gone forever.frown

Times are a changin, I remember spending over 20 dollars in quarters to beat Die hard 3 at the arcade. Ive seen real fights break out over SF and MK, amusing watching ppl who spend all their time using their fingers fight with their arms. Virtua Cop was a hoot, as well as the Cruisin USA games. Gauntlet too.

I think they had an x-men game at my YMCA, and I used to save quarters to play it after swim team...

I forgot all about Gauntlet, that game was cool as hell. You and all your buddies gathered around the arcade, each with different powers and hordes of monsters just pouring out of every hole. I used the wizard everytime.

I always wanted to become amazing with Kano, just rip people's hearts out, but I never could master him. the only one I got really good with was scorpion, then in the later games Cyrax. I remember everytime I did his finisher I would sing that R.E.M. song "it's the end of the world as you know it" because well he blew the hell up.

The X-men game was amazing, Nightcrawler was my boy.

I think I used to play Mortal Kombat III. I was awesome with sub zero (who wasn't really... he was an easy character to master) and I was pretty good with the four armed woman person thing. I could do the "spider stomp" (that's what I called it" where she just flew up into the air and came crashing down on the unsuspecting victim. Oh man... those were the days. Back when Rad Racer was cool... Never did beat that game.

That first level was so hard... oh man... my friend and I only made it to the second level like... twice. We kept getting caught on the same stretch of road every time. It was so annoying.

I remember going to chuky chesses and having a couple friends that worked there and would give us a bucket of tokens. We would take them and go to the place called the castle. It was a huge arcade and the tokens would work on them. After a month they changed it where we couldn't because there were hundreds of tokens in the gameslaugh

Now most that i see half the games are not ever working and doing nothing but collecting dust
