So I have this irrational fear of sharks. And I know under normal circumstances that it's not irrational, but I think they're going to get me in lakes and rivers and swimming pools! Don't know why. But get me in a body of water by myself and once I close my eyes I have visions of Jaws coming straight at me.
So, please, other people have irrational fears like this too, right? If you do, I'd love to hear them. I like to know I'm not the only freak all the time.

I have this irrartional fear of the dark.........I can't go into in a room if it's dark i panic and freeze and i can't breathe i totally shut down.........your not alone darling.LOL

It's probably not an actual fear of sharks, but a fear of the unknown. 
I was afraid of the dark until last year.

i tottaly freak out if some one mentions snakes...it gets really bad...there was one day..there was a snake loose in my dorms...dont know how...and i FLIPPED...i ened up in the er...blacked out from hyuperventalitng...

I have this irrational fear of someone coming up to me and saying hey you are the little girl that once robbed a store with your stupid 18 y.o. boyfriend, which really did happen and I lose my job over it. I fear this so much that sometimes I run and hide and won't speak with people I know from back then when i got in so much trouble. I literally freeze up in social situations, because of this.

i'm totally afraid of heights. i end up getting vertigo and i start shaking. in fact, i'm so afraid of high places, i don't even need to be up high to get freaked out- i could be watching tv or a movie and -if they have an overhead view of a mountain or town- i'll freak.

my brothers used to think it was hilarious to lock me in the basement when i was little and make all kindsa of noise.............LOL i know it stems from that and i'm somewhat better i don't have a million flashlights any more.............LMAO

Rubber/Plastic spiders or bugs. Scare the living hell out of me. And if you use that against me, I will be pissed.

I don't think something like fear can be "itrrational"..I'm not really sure. But I know almost every one of us has something. Mine is needles. I can't watch a needle penetrate skin..just gives me the "woolies"! I can watch blood, gore, open heart surgery with rib spreaders, etc, etc, but I can't watch a needle penetrate the skin. Once its in it fine. Not sure why or where..but it freaks me out. 
So not sure if could be "irrational" though.
