And yeah, "pervert" or "perversion" does have negative connotations to most people. That's why I ask.

It's one thing for those familiar with "forum slang" on here to use words like that but what does that say to newcomers?

And I still don't understand where the idea came from that looking at someone's profile was somehow perverted or indicative of prurient intentions.

I'm not talking about a one-time note here where no one will really see it. I'm referring to the practice of calling it "perving".

I just find it goofy.

When guys view(perv) me a few tmes I send them notes saying:

If your going to perv me at least say HI!

They get embarrassed At least they start talking then.

I have some that do it a couple times a day!!!
