Im the opposite of you and was born and raised in California and now am a transplant to New Hampshire, Strafford County. Adapting to the weather back east has definitely been an adjustment for me. However, I lived on the central coast of California and the weather there is moderate the entire year round and there is little determinate change in seasons. Perhaps a little bit of rain in the winter months but that is about the extent of it. The close proximity to the Pacific ocean is what causes this. So I must confess though the New Hampshire seasons are a little more labor intensive (speaking of winter specifically) it is a wonderful change for me and I truly love the fall and spring here.

Having lived around Portsmouth,NH most of my young life NH will always be in my heart, and I can say that Fall and Spring are the best seasons there.
Summer, you're dodging seagull-sized mosquitoes, and Winter, you're freezing your nads off. While I can see how the "beautiful-weather-every-day" here in Cali can get kinda boring, I love being able to go to the beach year-round. One of the students at my culinary school in Dover was from Middleton. He was the class drug-dealer btw. |

I never actually lived in SD and was further north than where you are now. About 10 hours or so. I was living on what is considered the "central coast" kind of smack dab in the middle. California is a HUGE state as you are probably aware of now. People from other parts of the country seem to believe that California is continuously hot and sunny. They get heavy snow up in the Northern part of the state.
I visited SD many times and it is nice. Very warm I enjoyed Old Town San Diego and there are some fabulous restaurants there and clubs if you are into that.scene. You should also take a trip down to Mexico if you have not already. That's a blast but stay out of trouble. I don't recommend Tijuana as it is not a good representation of Mexico itself simply because it is too close to the border and caters to that American and tourist crowd. Go further down, Ensenada is nice. |

Welcome. Yeah, its very rural. Milton is pretty close to me I think. Yet it is very beautiful and kind of wild here. Its not polluted and if you want to go into town, its like a half an hour drive if that. Best of both worlds.
