regular people should not have them. OBVIOUSLY the military needs them. use your brain.

and also, how many instances have people used guns "for protection" and actually gotten out of harmful situations compared to all the times people have killed themselves, or killed someone else who was innocent??? give me those stats with good outweighing the bad and THEN i'll say SURE. LAME back at you.

no need for insults here woman....as i have a brain..and I am inteligent...

after the water pistle comment I put "LOL" joke..humor...

I agreed with u that in certain situations guns should be...they are in the wrong hands...

But for the rest of the question from cplichrismd..I feel I answered appropriately...

I have a pistol permit, but not as a concealed firearm. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.......

Alrighty,
Im in Iraq right now, but i plan on gettin my Permit when i get out to carry. There are times when a gun is nessary, and times when they are not. Think about this, if we outlaw guns then crime and death rates would go through the roof because all those loyal American who live by the gun will be outlaws, and kill to keep their guns. Nobody says that just because a kid goes into a mall and kills a bunch of ppl because he had access to a gun its because he was fed up with the BS that others put him through. I mean the poor kids that are picked on and made fun of all their lives do sometimes snap. Its the American right to own carry and use if nessary a weapon of he or her choice....

When the 2nd amendment is taken from us
The 2nd revolution will start...

Unfortunately, some municipalities have very stringent rules with regard to CCW permits.

For example- it's almost next to impossible to get a CCW here in Los Angeles, unless you're a peace officer or you have definitive fear for life that can be proven in a court of law. In fact, I believe the actor Edward James Olmos ended up getting one of the last civilian CCWs here, which he applied for after being threatened by the Mexican Mafia for releasing "American Me" some twenty years ago.

And then there's the deal with so-called "assault weapons" which is another matter entirely.

I've been around guns my entire life I have owned them, shot them, hunted with them. Idaho is not a difficult state to get a CCW permit in because most people carry guns in their truck with them anyway. They just aren't concealed.I think the people should have a right to bear arms and the 2nd amendment gives us that right.

I used to carry. It was actually a part of my job requirement, and I was in my 20's.. not having thought things completely through.

Personally, I now believe that using a handgun or any other firearm for personal defense is not all that sound, unless you are in law enforcement or the military. Even with proper training.

Many of the times I've been accosted or my home has been threatened.. The only good a firearm would have been was to use it as a club. Unless I walked around with it loaded, chambered and duct taped to my hand.

I'd much rather avoid people and places that I am at risk or would have the desire to carry, then own firearms.

I have been around guns my whole life, and have a complete closet full of them. Every one is loaded too. What good is an empty gun? Might as well use a club. Wy is relatively easy to get a ccw. I decided long ago that a gun is no bluff. Guaranteed, if I have to point one at someone, it will go off. Therefore, I never have (with the exception of VietNam) pointed one at any one, nor do I plan to. I think at the gun thing with a bit of common sense...if registration is required, or banned outright, do you think the crook down the street or the gangs are gonna run right down and register or turn theirs in? Get real.

Unless you live in a war zone, are a drug dealer, pimp, into home invasion, or rape/ murder, or a cop... chances statistically are.. that you will never need a firearm to defend yourself.

If you go by the statistics thrown about by gun enthusiasts and run them against the crime statistics put out by the FBI... Firearms have been used over 100% of the time to defend people in burglaries, home invasions and strong arm robberies. Does that make sense? Especially since only 44% of homes and people have access to a firearm? Talk about the dumb luck of them criminals that year.. They all picked homes with trained killers in 'em!

Having a loaded firearm in your home is actually a good way..statistically, to get killed or maimed. Either accidentally or by someone with intent, using your own weapon on you. Locking it or securing it..simply turns it into a really expensive bludgeoning weapon. I've got an aluminum baseball bat that does a better job for a fraction of the price.

I've been accosted while wearing a weapon a few times. There was no time to react with the weapon. As it turned out, I was much better off using hand to hand then moving my ass to a populated area.

thank you thank you thank you, Jistme.

as far as an amendment right to bear arms, psh. it is like in school or at home, one rotten apple spoils the bunch. how many kids and people need to be killed before someone says, "enough"?

it doesn't matter what i think anyways. all of you with your super great loaded guns ready to kill, cuz by god, it is your right will have your way. and with all those rights came all the guns that this country will never get rid of. it is a lost cause on my part.

as far as the "guns don't kill people, people kill people" line of reasoning... how easy/cowardly is it to pull a trigger compared to, stabbing someone with a knife? guns are easy and quick. it's pretty tricky to do a drive by stabbing? and how many knives bust through windows killing innocent people?

better ban cars since people are dying every day..... mabe aircraft and bathtubs too. There has NEVER been an incident where any weapon has hurt anyone.... until someone picked it up. We need crime control not control of inanatamite objects.

common sense tells us that criminals dont follow the law. Any gun control laws just hinder the good people from getting weapons, which just makes things worse. A govt guarantee that the good guys are disarmed. ARE YALL SURE THATS SMART? Why do kids shoot up schools? ans. they know that there will be no one to shoot back. I WOULDENT SEND MY KID TO (PUBLIC) SCHOOL UNARMED. (Of course i wouldent send my kid to public schools period....)

Adolph Hitler 1938
as you see, the experts agree gun control works.

... stalin, mao tse tung, Hitler, ect.
a disarmed popluace has no recourse against tyranny, as well as criminals. This may not be a happy message but its a historical fact that you cannot take over a country without first disarming the people.

I have had a permit for over 15 yrs.
Only carried when out working late at nite.
Needed it twice to protect me & mine.
Firm believer in the right to "keep & carry arms."
Keep my permit current because I can.
Seldom carry, except late at nite.

I personally don't carry one. I don't feel the need for it. However if you do carry one I respect that right all I ask is that you use it responsibly.

FIVE women were shot dead in a clothes store in Chicago and police were last night still searching for the suspected gunman.
Police discovered the victims when they were called to the Lane Bryant store at the Brookside Marketplace shopping centre in the southern suburb of Tinley Park.

The incident, for which police said they have yet to establish a motive, happened at about 10.45am (4.45pm GMT).

"Every store was immediately canvassed and a search by air, too, has given us every indication that the offender has left the scene," said Police Sgt T J Grady

He said police were looking for a black man about 5ft 9in tall and weighing 230 to 260 pounds, dressed in a blac
k waist-length winter coat, a black cap and black jeans.

The shooting is the latest in a series of mass killings that have shocked the United States, where gun ownership is widespread and the right to possess arms is a fiercely contested constitutional issue.

In December a teenage gunman killed eight people in a shooting rampage at a department store in Nebraska.

High school drop-out Robert Hawkins, 19, who had recently broken up with his girlfriend, then turned the rifle on himself. He was found dead by police on the third floor of the Van Maur store in Omaha, Nebraska.

The deadliest shooting spree in modern US history occurred in April last year when a student killed 32 people and then himself at Virginia Tech university

After murdering his first two victims, Cho Seung-Hui, 23, returned to his dormitory room and sent a rambling account of grievances in a video to NBC.
