There was a girl who needed help. She was new to America from Korea and
knew a limited English. She was lost and needed to find her way to the
bus stop.

A man was there to save her. He escourted her to the correct bustop. As
he turned away to go about his business, she realized that this man
sacrificed 30 minutes to save her. She yelled to get his attention. She
thought this is a nice guy why not get his number? They exchanged
numbers and went on their way.

Throughout the beginning of the semester, they got to know each through
body language. He met her friend, who was her translator when she needed
help. They got along well.

They went to restaurants and culturally diffused. Many a time, this lady
and the man would have Sushi over lunch. She said that she would need
time, many guys have hurt her before. She doesn't know American guys,
she said.

The end of the semester was near before they knew it. It was time to
have a last get together. She had mentioned watching a movie, however,
said that it is against Korean culture for her to have a guy over her
apartment.

He did no less than treat her as a lady. He bicycled to her apartment to
escourt her to his place, they rode a bus back to campus. After the
movie he walked her home(3:30 AM) and rode his bicycle back to his
dormitory.

She said, "I can trust you; I will miss you over break."

He gets back at his dormitory at 4 AM. She calls, with a scared voice.
She said, "My friend knew and said 'are you crazy...'"

And then she says, "I don't want to keep in touch, and I don't like
you."

And that is the end of the semester saga with the Korean.
Cultural lines kill everything in the end. Her friend controlled her.

...a friendship, a relationship, lost in translation...
