I'm still in on a meet, I think it would be tons of fun. Quick question. Why did we decide that during the day would be better than at night? The kiddos? Let me know what I can do to help! Actually kids had nothing to do with the idea of during the day. I'm the one that suggested during the day. Due to some may have to drive up to and hour both ways. Therefore I was actually thinking to make the time for the meet between 1-3 so everyone had plenty of time to get there and still had daylight driving home. More of a casual meeting instead. But now we could do a early evening type thing since it does not get dark till later we could shoot for around 5-6 which is fine also. It was later suggested that those with kids could bring them if they choose too. Time is not set in stone And if anyone knows of a place that we could check into let us know. I will start checking to see what is around the different areas as well. |

Ok, I have been doing some research and there are 2 festivals in Dallas area in May that sound pretty fun. There is Mayfest:
Mayfest Apr 30-May 3. Enjoy rides, games, art, and food along the beautiful Trinity River. Six stages will provide a variety of live music. A Battle of the Bands will be held for local talent. The Mayfest Run will be held on May 2 and has a USATF-certified 10k and 5k and a 1k fun run for the kids. Mayfest is celebrated in Trinity Park between I-30 and West Lancaster Avenue in Fort Worth. Admission costs $8 for adults, $5 for children 6-12, children 5 and under get in free. and Taste Addison: Taste Addison May 8-10. Fri 5 p.m.-midnight, Sat noon-midnight, Sun noon-6 p.m. Enjoy food, music, art, and carnival rides. Taste Addison will be held in Addison Circle Park at 4970 Addison Circle Drive in Addison. Admission for adults is $10 after 5 p.m., $5 before 5 p.m. Parking is free at the corner of Dallas Parkway and Arapaho Road. Discount tickets can be purchased at Metroplex Tom Thumbs. Here is the website I found all of this at: http://dallas.about.com/od/festivalsparades/tp/Fest05.htm I would love some feedback! |

Taste of Addison is awesome. I use to go every year when I lived there. Never been to Mayfest though.

I say we do one of those if Dallas works for everyone. It seems like they both have some really great bands there and plenty to do. Kids are welcome at both. If people want to stay for only a couple hours, that's cool, but it looks like stuff is going all night
