Hello everyone! I probably missed you all. Well, I thought I would pop in and leave a message telling you that I am fine.
I started working in brampton a few weeks ago, and I am very happy with it. I finally work in an office setting. I don't have access to certain sites at work, and unfortunately, this is one of the sites that is restricted. I should be back online near the end of the month, and can't wait to come and visit again. Well, see you soon. Love you all. |

![]() Hihohiho its off to work I go... Did you know - Canadians among world's happiest workers We're also more positive than Americans, Chicago researcher says Derek Abma, CanWest News Service Thursday, September 06, 2007 While some say the growing quantity of jobs in Canada has come without an increase in quality, an international employee research firm says Canadians are among the most satisfied employees in the world. Data released by Chicago-based Towers Perrin-ISR shows Canadian workers scored higher than any other country it measured in rating the quality of work their organizations do, their pay and rewards, and their performance-evaluation systems. Canada was tied for top spot with India in the area of employee empowerment. The research firm said Canada was among the top three rated countries as far as workers' accounts of their companies' employee engagement, career development, communication, stress, balance and workload were concerned. "There are some cultural things about Canada that we think helped," said Amy Johnson, research development director for Towers Perrin-ISR. "We know that Canada is a very open, accepting culture. It's not very hierarchical ... You can try out new ideas without fear of failure, without being ostracized." The Canadian data was based on interviews with more than 61,000 employees from 45 private- and public-sector organizations between late 2004 and early 2006. Fifteen other industrialized areas were also studied, including the United States, United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Australia, Hong Kong, India and Japan. Canadian employees were rated on 21 different categories, all of which placed Canada in the upper half of countries as far as attitude rankings. Compared with data collected five years earlier, Canadian worker perceptions had improved with regard to their companies' leadership and supervision, benefits, goals and objectives, work tools and conditions, training and quality. "There's a lot of recent increase in the Canadian data," Johnson said. "When we look at the trending, when maybe five years ago [Canadian ratings] were still toward the middle or the upper half compared to these other countries, in the past five years, they've really shot up to that one, two or three position." She said part of the improvement is related to the economic success Canada has enjoyed recently. "Canada's doing well economically, as are a lot of the other countries that tend to be in the higher portion [of the survey]," she said. Johnson said Canadian workers were more positive than Americans in most categories, and there hasn't been the same kind of marked improvement in the attitudes of U.S. workers in recent years as there has been in Canada. The U.S. was ranked fourth in all three of the categories -- quality, pay and performance evaluation -- that Canada led. Countries most often sharing the top positions with Canada tended to be in Asia and South America rather than North America or Europe. The exception was the Netherlands, which was No. 1 in stress, balance and workload, and tied for third spot with Brazil in the empowerment category. The only category where Canadian workers' perceptions worsened over five years was stress, balance and workload. Johnson said most countries' workers became more negative in this category, as companies everywhere seem to be demanding more from employees. Still, she said 55 per cent of Canadians responded favourably to this aspect of their jobs. Now - get back to work and spread the joy ![]() ![]() Have a great week end. |
