Bush has nothing to do with it. He's just a puppet. It's the corporations (The Fed. etc.) that are running this country. They are trying to eliminate the middle class. The way they see it, if the middle class was poor, they'd get richer.

Best buy made almost 30 billion in profits last year. So with your logic, best buy is bad too, so let's put them outta business.

2005-2006 welfare spending was 90 billion, if we cared less about who was making money and more about who was stealing money, we'd be better off.

You can never know if you are in a recession until after it is over. The deffinition of a recession is 6 months in economic downturn. So you can't know there was a recession untill it has already happened.

One of the huge reasons too is because in America every moron can take out a loan, which he/she will probably never be able to pay off.

And that is encouraged by the banks and Federal Reserve.

So how big of a profit is too big?.. these companies drill and sell is to make a profit, they provide lots of jobs. Average joe in the industry makes 50 to 80 grand a year. The oil companies have little to do with a economic downturn.

Oil is big business, because everyone needs it. China is over taking the US in oil purchases, which is a lot of the big oil profits. It is amusing that people complain about profits, but why be in business if you don't make a profit?

Oh yea, war just to make money. I like talking points too, they amuse me. So by that standard, we shouldn't have gotten into any of the world wars, and Germany would have taken out all the problems we now face in the middle east and destroyed France. All wars are about either making money or securing flows of money.

Thousands of people die each year because of drunk drivers, lets stop the liquor industry, they're just out to make money. The cigarette companies too, lets just ban everything that has a small chance of killing someone and makes money. Utopia isn't going to be found now, or ever.

I do not believe we are in a recession. I realize that a lot of people are losing their homes because of the sub prime mortgages, but that is just one part of the picture. Unemployment isn't that high and gas prices have stayed stationary. Sure, it is rough for some people, but not for the majority.

...no

people have taken adjustable rate mortgages because those initial rates are lower than the fixed. thing is, often they can't afford to pay at a higher rate, which the adjustable will always climb to. banks are out a lot of money. we have outside sources that are help keeping our banks afloat. our automotive industry is suffering because they built shoddy products for several years and have since lost customers.

your oil thing has little to do with it.

That is because debt is a huge money maker for banks. Up until the people can no longer pay it. It is a vicious cycle. More people start having trouble, start defaulting, file for bankruptcy, interest rates go up, then even more people have trouble.

Seems like a bad thing in the long run, or do all businesses and financial institutions just think in the short term. Get as much as possible from people now, since we might not be able to later.
