A girl contacted me from Yahoo Personals.
"Of Hi I'm from Michigan, but currently away in Nigeria handling some family business for a decieased father" ..... (a couple hours of misc chatting) ..... (next day) "I was Robbed, after meeting with my lawyer I was robbed, everything I had was in my wallet & those shopping bags" "Can you send me at least $250 till I get my fathers stuff sold?" (meanwhile in another yahoo window) "Hi I'm Cynthia, I live in LA, California. but I am currently in Nigeria on family business & taking care of some of my relatives stuff" ---------------------------------------- I do internet security for a living you see. I ran some nice little background applications I have designed to trace IP information on them... turns out not only are they both in nigeria, they are in the same building!! ----------------------------------------- So I said, Hi Cynthia... where are you at? she replied, in an internet cafe near my hotel. I then replied "I see, can you look around & just say something outload for me... kind of like a dare" she replied "sure why not" I said "ok yell out ... HI MARY" ------------------------------------------ Needless to say, both persons signed off yahoo just after I said that.... HMMMM |

I had girl contact me, similar story, wanted me to send her 300.00 dollars. I didnt send money, Noway becareful out there!!!!

Oh I am careful, unfortunatly the scams are about the only emails I get...lol. I still think something is drawing them to my profile, just cant figure out what. Fool me once, shame on you... i would have loved to see the look on whosever face that was you was talking to when you told her to do that.. that would have been soooooooooooo funny....

Good for you, interesting how they are so bold. What bothers me is that they normally find one/two people out there that fall for this type of crap.

I am a softy, but I also deal with this stuff each day too. the 2nd girl coming form the same location though, that was really sunk them...lol |

While it's great that you were aware of the scams, really ticks me off when they find an unsuspecting individual and that person(s) falls for it.

I've know people to fall for these things. Its not a pretty sight when they realize they've been hurt again. They are usually the ones just coming out of a bad relationship & looking out there for hope. |

Hey willy,..ive chatted with a couple women and the same thing happened (sent no money by the way) now i get an occasional e-mail trying again. Is there anyone or anywhere i can report the e-mails to?

Now if it your regular email your getting them in, well sorry to say it but your just out of luck in general. You can do an FCC report at http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints.html but thats about it. |
