Topic: how long does it take........

This site is really cool but I have to say I find it a little weird. Through e-mail and the forums I run into so many sweet women that seem like a good fit.......but they all live so far away. Nothing really close to me. Should I move??? yes..c'mere lol damn thats what i was thinking lol

I think Mike feels that it is time to pop the question to Miss Blow Up. I mean...come on dude....you have dated long enough. Make her an honest.......doll. i think it's about time

There's no real "blanket answer" -- I met someone after 2 weeks on one site -- intelligent, attractive, and she turned out to be an arsonist and a klepto. OK, so that one was too fast. But in 2006, I met 3 others (from other sites) and waited between 3-5 months in each case, and they ALL turned out to be, let's just say, "deceptive" -- The good one who I met on a dating site -- the one I'm back together with now -- we talked on line and by phone for almost a year before we met in person. Even though she only lived about 25 minutes away from me at that time. Neither one of us was in any desire to hurry anything, because we both were coming out of bad situations and wanted to be more careful. I think everybody's different and a lot depends on what you're looking for, and what you're not looking for. I've actually come to the conclusion that the type of person I've looked for, simply doesn't use dating sites. I've been here over a year and haven't run across anyone even remotely suitable. The handful I suspected might be exceptions were all local and refused to answer my e-mails. So I guess the only thing I can say is, if there's someone who interests you, do you contact that person? Are you open to people contacting you? Not every site works the same for everybody, either. I have found vast differences in the clienteles of various sites. Not "more datable" so much as just "different," though!

seems like most people on here are more interested in general socializing than trying to focus on meeting a potential significant other.

I may just fit this mold, because I feel before any man has the chance to become my significant other, he must first be my friend. So I like to socialize and get to know people, not here out of desperation nor with one goal in mind. jmo

yeah i have not mailed anybody yet but i have plenty of friends which i always talk to lol i forget it's a dating site when i spend all my time on the forums lol
