Only a few minutes into the speech and Nancy Pelosi is puckering up so badly as President Bush presses the need for lower taxes and the continuation of the tax cuts! lol gotta love it.

Obama did an interesting thinking man. The two fingers placed over the lips, in deep concentration of course how this whole further power of the people thing sounds so dumb, government can do it soooo much better he believes.

I fervently dislike Bush, particularly as he outright laughed (as opposed to his trademark smirk)...but I was particularly impressed with his State of the Union address. His strong approach towards earmarking is particularly appealing. The fact that he is going to actually issue an executive order to stop earmarking is (I believe) unprecedented, and is a welcome step towards keeping promises in politics rather than lip service. His approach towards the international conflicts was strikingly balanced and reasoned. He is facing the right direction on budget reform, albeit using the wrong weapon. Cutting "needless and bloated" (read: democratic supported) programs while maintaining his huge tax cuts is certainly not the way to raise money for the budget. And of course I still oppose No Child Left Behind and his wiretapping program, but I never expected him to give up on those. Can't ask for everything...

It pains me to give him a B+ on that. But I do.
