Hi jenny and gals, and guys with honesty, I just wanted to reply to this discussion as I am 43 and in my ads I always say I'm looking for a man say, 38 - 48 or some such age range, never younger than 35 usually. And its amazing how many 27 year olds call/write to me. I finally figured out that they can't find women and so they are fishing and prowling on the ads thinking we older women are desperate or something. They totally want SEX and that's about it. they use flattery to catch us off guard. Heck, one guy was not only 20-something but also short and skinny and it reminded me of my son when he was 12 - yuk! My son is 17 now, taller than me and athletic, I just can't seem to wrap my mind around any guy who isn't at least bigger/fatter/older looking than my own son!!
Ya, it's an ego boost maybe, but there is NO future in it and you'll end up feeling used. Plus being 40 we are more into things other than sex and attraction, like maturity and good conversation and younger guys don't have much else to offer. They want sex and maybe to learn a few tricks they can try later on younger girls.

Did think my post was directed at anyone specifically? Did you fail to notice the "some of them" part of that sentence? Do you think you can speak for EVERY woman on every dating site? Do you really believe that EVERY woman is so confident in herself and her sexuality as to not fall for a young man's con? No woman in her 40's or 50's would be "grateful for the attention" or enjoy the "ego boost" of being hit on by a young dude?

Was the "attitude problem" comment directed at me? Relating my experience and opinion is a problem?? But you don't have any ego hangups?

"Get just about anyone they want"? And "Hey if some young buck wants to get his rocks off with me, then bring him on"? Is that what it's all about? Scoring? Getting laid? If that's the case you're a great matchup for those 20-somethings. They're just living life between their legs too.

Sorry to burst your bubble but yes, MOST of the young guys hitting on older gals (I'm talking about boys 15 to 20 or more years younger than the women they're hitting on) is simply a sex thing. I'm sure there are some times when it's a genuine attraction but that's few and far between. You should hear the way young guys talk about dating sites and finding "MILFs" and "Cougars". Many guys view these kinds of sites as simply digital whorehouses. I won't even get into the Oedipus Complex/abandonment issues part of this scenario.

For most guys sex in their 20's is all about themselves. It's just a way of getting pleasure and affection and an ego boost. If the girl is turned on and enjoying it then that's just more ego boosting. "Look what a stud I am!" Scoring with a hot older gal is something to really brag about - it's an incredible conquest for many of them.

As we (guys) get older some of us start to mature and realize we want more out of life and a relationship than just a moment of shuddering delight. Sex becomes about connection, expressing love, the physical manifestation of an emotional bond. If you've ever experienced that magic you know the sex is waaay better that way.

And again some of us gain knowledge as we age and know more about how to pleasure a woman and make the experience more enjoyable for both involved. "Keeping up with you" is certainly no challenge for the educated man who has taken care of himself through the years.

But then that's just my take on it.
