Sometimes you feel that way, the reason you do is your body is fighting the virus off right now, so if you get exposed down the road hopefully you will have the antibodies to fight it off.

That is a good question.
I got one last year and had the same problems you decribed.
I got one this year and had no effects.

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I got flu a couple years ago and the same thing happened to me. About a day or two after the shot, I felt sick. When asked by my doc this year about getting a shot, I told him I was going to get sick either way, so I'd save some $$$ and skip the shot. Hope you feel better soon.

It's very normal. Maybe your immune system was a little bit weaker than it's been normally.

Yea I did the same thing got the flu shot and got sick and never again for me. But I had to take my daughter to get hers and I wasn't going to do that. noway But the doctor's office told me it's the antibiotics (whatever type of flu it is) for that flu but you can still get a different type of virus. I hope I helped you out.

sometimes one of the side effects of the flu shot is you get the flu

been in the medical field for 26 years i won't get one and won't give one to my son either. I only think the very young and the very old should get those kind of shots.

I hope you all feel better really soonflowerforyou

I have these shots every year because I am in the high risk
catagory.

Maybe my imunities are off right now... grumble

The very first shot I got a few years ago made me sick to my stomach but went away quickly. This is a bit rougher.

I would think that they would explain that when you get the shot.... no?

Getting a flu shot is
a good idea, even if
there are unpleasant
side effect.

The flu shot won't
necessarily keep
you from getting
the flu, but it
can help you get
over it sooner.

I would argue that it is a bad idea for anyone under 60 and over about 8. All we are doing is breeding nastier viruses.

I get a flu shot every year. Never get sick from a flu. I still do get colds and whatever, but nothing like the flu.

They always tell me to take a Tylenol first, then get the shot. That way if you have a temp or already have a bug in you, it will help. But, fact of the matter is; if you already have the bug, you will still get sick.

The only symptom I ever get is a sore arm.

I can tell you that if I do not get the shot; I always...always get that dam flu. I get soooo sick.

Egg alergies can affect it as well.

Get to feeling better.flowerforyou

The reason I get it is that
I once got the flu in Colorado
and felt like walking death.

My throat was about swollen
shut and I was so weak I could
hardly walk.

Well I think I will go lay down for awhile,
maybe some more sleep will help.
I'll see you all later.

p.s.) I think they are a good idea for the elderly, children,
and people with cronic illnesses. I have to agree with you
hiker. I know before I got shots every year- the flu would put me in the hospital. Since I have been getting them- I have'nt
got knocked down so bad. Guess I just did'nt exspect to feel this crappy is all...

Yes, the flu kills people. Here in Oklahoma there are thousands hospitalized with it. Sevearl die every year. The little symptoms are minute compared to death.

How many of those are under 60?

I'm going to go with.... 0, but maybe 1 a year.
