The deep pool

Moonlight glinting off the ripple
of a deep pool in the clearing
wind whispering, leaves rustle
light dances, moon glow reflecting

A man steathily steps into the light
drawn as though by the piper
by the unnerving sight
leans to look deep in the water

He blinks as the light deep dances
seeing faint figures of light
moving more intentional than chance
the forms become clearer and right

There is happy fairies, unicorns and doves
dancing joyously full of life
on one side of the vision is love
strangely he feels free of strife

On the other side of the vision
are dark figures of gloom
warriors of blood and derision
he questions. is this the same room?

Suddenly a whisper in the wind
tells him to wish for her
wish and she, they will send
confused he says coyly he wishes for Her

In the vision in the deep pool
a commotion ensues as dark meets the light
a war, a battle, who shall rule?
Wait, they are coming together, no fight

As he watches amazement does rend
the fairy and warrior combine to be one
Darkness and unicorn blend
all mixing and adjoining till done

Emerging from the deep pool
a beautiful woman does rise
blinking and feeling a fool
she becomes real before his eyes

In the sweetest music he ever heard
She says she is the essence of woman
only a true essence of man does deserve
He stands...still as she reaches for her man
