If they don't understand children come first, they aren't worth your time!!! My children are grown now, but when they were at home, they were the number one priority.

I have had men get offended when I tell them I prefer not to date men with children who are not grown. They can get quite nasty in fact. I would not have much respect for a man who did NOT put his children first but I also have the right to NOT put myself last.

You go girl. BTW - happy B-day.

I have given up on finding the "ONE" LOL! My girls will be 18 in 5 more years, then I will have my life back. I will be a ripe old age of 56 or so, not the end of the world!!!laugh

I decided I can wait! If it happens in between, then so be it. I will play the cards I am delt when they come to me.drinker

don't count on getting your life back when they turn 18..mine will be 18 in a few months and show no signs of changing anything..she is still my baby...

One woman I was recently dating actually said to me that I spend too much time with my daughter, and when I am not with my daughter I am working, which leaves little time for her and she was uspet about it. Needless to say I pretty much excused her that evening. Being a Single parent, involved in your child's life, a demanding career, and dating?...How do you truly balance that?

drinker Now you have more time for your daughter.

There's no such thing as too much time with your child, especailly when you're divorced.

well Jim it looks like everyone pretty much agrees with you so you probably don't need my 2 cents..but I have been raising my daughter alone for 13 years and she has always been the center of my life..even as she approaches her 18th birthday she is still the most important thing in my world. Would I like to share my life with a man? Maybe. But if I never do I have no regrets. I have an awesome child and we are so close. No man would have been worth giving that up.

this is EXACTLY why i don't date.

my children are my only real priority...i work to feed them. i find that i have little time left over for anything other than them...and i'm okay with that.
