The legal system in this country blows! For one Civil Court system to be involved in a decision of child visitation to both equally capable parents is besides me.

So here is some Judge who is going to wake up in a pi**ed off mood because he didnt get some last night, and totally ruin my day...I just know it

huh iF YOU want to get more than visitation then you have to apply to the courts for 1/2 custody.

yes it does. I was watching a Law and Order SVU once. It was about a woman go murdered. She had a baby with this guy but she was a druggie. She cleaned up her act, but this guy took her baby. He gave it an adoption agency. Parents adopted the baby. Then like 11 years later when the murder happened, SVU dug around and found that the woman had a baby. The parents and the baby's father went to court for custody. The father won because of parental rights. How sad is that. I know the father has rights, but this child grew up with people who he thinks are his parents.

Our system is wacked

I don't know how your state works but I wouldn't think that's possible without good reason in any state.. Stay positive a judge may not be in a good mood but he'd be stupid to take a child away from a father that loves and is good... I've noticed most dads these days are so involved and great.. It's so nice to see that.. Kids need both parents even if they're not together they need them both... Good luck Jim!!!flowerforyou

I think they should consider the psychological effects its going to have on the child first.

Depends on the age of the child. My daughter is 7 and very outspoken. She will speak up and say how much she wants to be with me, so if the judge wants to talk to her I will strongly encourage it

Why, so she can get more money. Pretty cruel I think, she needs to wake up and enjoy the child and let you enjoy the child as well, equally. I have been in this situation and it isn't fair to the childflowerforyou

It's ironic, Her and her boyfriend just bought a house a month ago...It's got it written all over it, I just hope he sees it like most of reality does

Ahh yes that is typical, I had forgotten about people doing it for that reason.. I'm a little naive about those things.. I only asked for the bare minimum just to help out with daycare and supported my boys on my own for the most part and raised them that way too... Their dad didn't really want to be involved once he got his new family that hurt them..

Pennsylvania..its a bit difficult to get that changed with out good cause...I hope its the same way in Maryland..for u..

Wish u well..

I had the typical agreement..every other weekend...I laways gave the boys to him any time he or they wanted each other...

I either worked..or slept...it was get ahead or recoup time..

I wish many would see it that way..

our children are not possetions....they are gifts to be shared between both parents...and the children no matter what age has rights to both parents as well..as long as they r safe of course...tell that to the judge...

I should have gone into the domestics...I did it right...and have tried to help many ....cause it works...my boys are living proof...they have a wonderful dad and relationship...

Also when they turned 16 and could drive...I threw the visitation agreement out the window..it then was completely up to them..

Again best to u and hope all works out...

let me know...

I couldnt imagine not being involved in her life! I am a very active PTA member, volunteer at the school as much as possible, Heck..I even changed jobs to be closer to her, I am loser to her school now then my ex is. I pay her a lot as it is now, honestly all my female friends with kids say I am paying too much now as it is, now she wants to double it and try to take one night away from to cause that to happen...I truly feel for yours, that is sad and poor charachter about the father...It will come back to haunt him
