Am I the only person who falls for the "get this-or-that free" bait and switch tactics of the vast world of cyberspace?

I know that you get what you pay for, BUT there really ARE tons of resource sites if one knows how to find them! Obviously, I am not one of the informed!

Try looking up "free legal advice." One site in particular advertises just that. "Free legal advice from REAL lawyers since 1997." Then............long story short......you find out that it is not considered free legal advice, rather an open forum that some lawyers may/may not frequent.

There's a lot more to it than that, but even signing up for free whatever has just about sent me over the edge this morning. Certain sites even ask you to answer "a few" survey questions for your free whatever.

OK, after about the 10th page...........I sign off. And THEN I get a mailbox FULL of junk mail as apparently I have provided every shammer in the universe my email address!!!!

The minute I see:

*Participation Required

I go do something else....!

One night, out of sheer boredom, I decided to find out about one of the 1483 "gift cards" I have supposedly won. Surveys, nosy questions, dot-to-dot puzzles, questions about quantum physics, "great offers" (how many mortgage refinancings do I need when I don't even own a home?), "product comparisons" ("who makes the best Danish beer?" -- how the hell should I know, I don't drink), ads for subscriptions to magazines I never heard of and would probably not have suffered any, had I continued to have never have heard of ("Submarine Efficiency Expert Monthly," or "World of Shoelaces"), blah blah blah, and 389 pages later, with still no end in sight, I decided that there is probably NO gift card worth going though all that....

Nothing on the net is free! Besides search engines, which are all tracked and they forward where you've been to people to spam you. drinker drinker

Oh and always have a few email addresses to give out to places, so spam goes some where else than the email you check regularly.

Hehe. Actually, this isn't true. Like Shy said, you've got to know where to look. I've spent a LOT of time learning where and how to look, and where not to look. Need something for free? Drop me a line. ~_^

Well if you need advice from a lawyer the easiest way to do that is look in yur phone book just about every lawyer will give you the fist consultation free most will do it right over the phone which all they can say is what you can do and the best way to go about and yur rights have done it a few times myself. It is best to do the ones in your area for the law is different from state to state.flowerforyou
