Topic: Anybody Else Trying To Quit Smoking? | |
---|---|
It has become almost impossible. I am using NicoDerm (the patch), and I must say I can almost taste the sweet relaxation of a smoke so bad! Anybody else trying to quite or has quit? Any pointers? Maybe we can form some sort of support group or something.

Try Chantix, worked for me with no cravings and no other side effects. Only draw back is that it's prescription.
Good luck. |

winnie410 has quit for two weeks now and last I talked to her seemed to be doing well.
She's mentioned that Chantix a few times and as I recall that's what she's using. Maybe she'll be on later to help and encourage. Good luck with it! I quit years and years ago and now can't imagine why I'd ever go back. Bleah! |

Maybe we can form some sort of support group or something. my offical 13th day here...it's the longest that i have ever made..it's my third time trying to quit..for me the patch was useless..the gum was terrible because it played havoc with my insides..cold turkey is truely the only real way to stop..(in my opinion)..for me..tiring myself out is the key..the more i do things with my time the more i dont think about it...and working with steel support beems all day really helps out.. the gym.. throwing hoops at the center going to outing with the crew after work anything to leep me from going home because when i am home then that is when it hits me.. keeping busy is the key |

Bleah! thank you AD! yes i am using chantix. i havent had even a drag of a cig in 2 weeks. i went out with my best friend (a smoker) to a smoking allowed casino this weekend and didnt even cheat. i have had no cravings, some urges, but no physical cravings. and the urges pass quickly. i have tried quitting before, tried the patch and all, and it never worked. this time feels different. i really think this is it. email me if you want support or info on chantix and possible side effects. good luck!!! |
