That seems like a good plan to me. I would support it. Its really great not having to go into a restaurant and request nonsmoking and still smell the smoke from the other side of the place. Either way though he can't pass it only support it. Like the article says Congress would have to pass it as well. Sure it is a good plan but not constitutional when implimented at the federal level. |

No I think people have the right to go to a public place and not be forced to inhale toxic air into their lungs. If you want to smoke you can go outside its not that big a deal. |

Didn't Huckabee propose a national smoking ban? That is a slippery slope. Where do the taking of civil liberties end? Its in public places only. I live in Louisiana and we had a state wide smoking ban in public places since last year and its actually really great. Thanks for the info. The federal government does not have the freedom to pass any law that is in the public good without violating the tenth amendment. truth. the smoking ban wouldn't bother me- hell I'm from New Jersey aka "the Trial and Error" state haha.. we have a smoking ban- no smoking inside public places and 10 ft from entrances... no big deal. But then again one of our governors is gay so nothing shocks me =] |

You people are missing the point. Only the States have the right to impose this ban, not the federal government. I'm not saying it's not a good thing. Who doesn't like fresh are?

 The point to voting to is make sure we DON'T end up with someone we regret. Protesting after the fact will not undo the damage. Just look who we ended up with for 2 terms!!! Educate yourself on the candidates' positions and don't just vote for someone who might be friendly or just looks good on camera but won't necessarily make a good President. |

Did anyone see the republican debate tonight? Ron Paul got gang raped by the other candidates. He left himself open to be slammed everytime he openned his mouth. Thompson and McCain did pretty good. Thompson slammed Huckabee and Huck never recovered. Romney did good as well. If you missed it I would urge you to catch it later tonight when it runs again on FOX.

I would rather listen to
or read the candidate's positions than get a spin from FOX. FOX commentators aren't exactly objective. You could say a pig did better if you spin it the right way. |

Thompson did make a good stand. Glad he actually decided to start showing up. His plan of attack is much better than Guiliani's who is just really sitting and waiting in Florida to begin.
Heard Thompson on Hannity's program today as well, starting to like the man again, and his wife is a really interesting person as well. I agree like 50/50 with Ron Paul. I swear, he starts talking about a subject and I'm like damn, I agree with that, however he keeps on going and screws up my like factor by going way too far at the end of it...lol. Yeah, Huck did get hit pretty hard, and his response to the attack was so incredibly weak. When they panned on the crowd I did not see faces of interest at Huck's response. I think Thompson gave a serious blow to Huckabee. Didn't get to watch the whole thing as I was watching CSI and Without a Trace, but I'm sure I'll see it. |
