How do you recognize a good lady from a bad one and how do you recognize a good man from a bad one?

i dont think you can, at least not right off the bat. takes time to get to know them.

Well there are many ways to find the good ones. Its called process of elimination. It all starts from the image they project. Then theres the degree of conversation.

The problem is just because there not good for you dosent mean they arent good for the next.

Take real time to get to know them , speak on the phone , write letters , meet eventually , and then take it from there , but you really have to get to know someone... time will tell...

I don't think you really can. I try to accept people for who they are and stay distanced until I really know them. If the interest for them stays and you don't feel uneasy around them, I'd call it a good situation. If something is going too fast and you really don't have time to step back and think, trust your gut, it's usually right.

A good person for you, is someone you can be yourself with and they can be themselves. You can talk about anything, do anything together, and enjoy being around each other. Accepting of their vices, well besides drug and alcohol abuse, and accepting the fact that each of you shouldn't change much of who you are, if you are to become a pair.

I think the beauty, and the curse, of life is that there is no good or bad. There are people that are right or wrong for you and it always depends on WHO you are at a particular moment in your life. So someone who was right for you yesterday, may not be right for you tomorrow. I believe every situation has something to be learned from it. Sometimes it's hard to see till you step out and look in from another perspective.
And every moment has a choice for you to make. If you ever feel like less than your self, fix it if it's worth it or just move on.

For a successful relationship, if something bothers you about someone, it should be said up front, not left to fester and bleed out like a small crack in the sidewalk. Left untended, the crack leads to other cracks stemming from it, eventually becoming a gaping hole that takes much more to repair later.
