Let's put religion and other beliefs aside for a moment, shall we?

I truly believe that no matter who you are, you should do something nice for someone.

I can not say I am a firm believer of karma.
I can not say that I know kindness will be repaid.
And I can not say some God is going to give me extra points just so it'll be easier to get to a place called Heaven.

I don't firmly believe in any of that.

If someone is less fortunate than I, I will help them if I can.
If I were to only have a few dollars left, and someone needed it for a legitament reason, I would happily give them all I have.

It is not because I get satisfaction out of it, and it's not to fill my ego.
On the contrary. I simply believe that a little bit of kindness can go along way.
I also believe that we are all human beings, trying to understand just how life really works.
We're all in this together, and there should be no reason why we shouldn't help each other.

Help others because you love to do it.
Help others because we are all one.

the Golden Rule

do unto others as u would like someone to do to u.

it does make the heart happier when u share a part of urself.

You've said it all... if you're looking to do something nice for some sort of karmic repayment, it's all kinda crap!

Good post Bro. I agree. I do it because it makes me happy like giving the homeless guy a few bucks. I always feel warm inside when I give. Just me...

I gave a homeless man a few bucks the other day outside a restaurant. He shook my hand, and asked my name, with tears welling up in his eyes. It was very touching, and not something I'll ever forget.

Helping someone out who truly needs it is a feeling you just can't duplicate.

Here's to ya mate drinker

This thread was inspired by something I did tonight.
A guy and his family were stranded in Austin.
From what he was saying, a kid of his was sick, and they had to go see him.
I ended up giving him some money for gas, and I gave him my gas can so he could fill up his car.

He shook my hand, and asked for my name.

I may never see this man again, and I may never receive that kindness back... but it makes me feel good to at least know that maybe I helped him out in a big way.
