It is great. More of it is sung than spoken. Depp's voice isn't bad, but he is untrained. He mispronounces three words in some of the songs. And these are not words that are normally problems when singing them. If they left three mispronounced words in, I wonder how much trouble he had in the other takes......

The kid in the movie has a fantastic voice and probably the most vocal training out of anyone in the film. You can tell. Or maybe I can because I know what to listen for.

The little blond who plays Joanna has a light airy soprano. But she has some power behind it. The two main characters have the least amount of vocal training. It is interesting.

Acting is superb. Tim Burton did a fantastic adaptation to the play. I first saw it in college. With Angela Landsbury as Mrs. Lovett. I fell in love with the play.

Trivia, the first time the story was done in film or stage was in 1926. It is truly a classic of both mediums.

the original is better.....

Which original, it's been done 8 or 9 times since 1926.

that movie was amazing.
Mrs. Lovett..
Don't suppose he's got any relatives poking around looking for him...seems a downright shame..seems an awful waste..such a nice plump frame what's his name......seems an awful waste, I mean with the price of meat when you get it if you get it good you got it.
Yes, I'm a big fan.

You missed some words.

It's a down right shame, such and awful waste, such a nice plump frame, woshis name has...had...has, nor it can't be traced. Think of it as a gift, as thrift, if you get my drift, such an awful shame....

I mean, with the price of meat, when you get it, if you get it, good you got it, take Mrs Moonie and her pie shot, business never better using only ***** cats and toast, a *****'s good for six or seven at the most

That's as far as I can get. Yeah, got the cd and have listened to it over and over and over. Trying to memorize it.

It was very well done. Granted, they cut out some great pieces from the musical, and they failed to capture the comedy in most of the songs like the musical did, but it was definitely fun to watch.

It was good because of Depp..otherwise I don't think I would have even bothered.
