When I was 12 my mom told me I should bake a pie and enter it in the county fair, and I did. I had never made a pie before, just looked in a cook book for ideas, and decided to make a lemon merangue pie (oh, the ignorance!)

Believe it or not, I actually won best pie.

She told me I couldn't do it a second time. The next time the fair rolled around, I made a lime merangue pie, my way, and I won...again. Best pie, most original, etc.


I also tend to invent my own meals a lot, I love cooking for other people.

just made a sausage rice pilaf with a tomato paste meat sauce with meatballs...
