Nope. Sorry.
But I am in IL. The things I miss most when the powers out? My computer, of course. Have to admit, I have never played WoW. And my fan, summer or winter. I can't sleep without the sound. If it's out for too long, a cold soda, can't live without my caffeine. Glad to hear you have your power back. |

Wow, my heart goes out to you!! Reminds me of a major ice storm that hit Michigan (where I am from originally) back in 1997. It took power out for 2 days at my house, and 5 days at the next door neighbors! Over the years, I've taught my daughter to be prepared. From keeping a small cooler (to put food in, if the electricity does go out) to always stocking candles and flashlights. :) It's helped! Plus, if the weather is cold, a person can put food on their back patio, if they have one and trust neighbors, etc.

How do people live with out power? I kind of consider it a day off.. No computers! I put a big pot of chili or stew on one burner, a pot of water or a coffee percolator on the other. Throw an extra blanket or two on the bed...get a book, take a nap... on the occasion I'm not alone.. pass the time some other way in candlelight.. No problem! |

*swoons* Dave .. you're my hero. Plus, if the weather is cold, a person can put food on their back patio, if they have one and trust neighbors, etc. Try making a few snow balls as if you are making the first two thirds of a snow man. Dig out the middle of the larger one.. go get your food and put it inside.. Cap it with the other snow ball and put a 40 gallon trash can over the whole thing, weighted down with a few cinder blocks or bricks to keep critters out.
I've kept food for as long as 8 days that way.. |

Glad your power is back on dude.
As most know we just had that BIG ice storm. Many had no power for about 15 days. Our was out for only about a day and a half. We were freezing. Some has heat but nothing else. There are many here from all around us, from other states still helping. Debris cleanup in still on going. Power lines are still being fixed. What did I miss the most? HEAT! Kat |

How and why did you learn you could do that??? My ex and I were sitting in the front window watching the snow...and admiring our handiwork.. A snowman we built earlier.. when almost simultaneously we thought of it. |

Pre-kids I spent four months living out of a tent (by choice)in the mountains! It was awesome! I would sooooo do it again! |

I spent four months living out of a tent (by choice)in the mountains! It was awesome! I would sooooo do it again! Living in a tent in the dead of winter at 9,000 feet with only the supplies you can carry can be pretty trying though.. |

Well it wasn't during the dead of winter but there was more than one morning I woke up to a ground cover of snow...
